It's a bit of a hidden gem this one. Great contact from the host, I loved the Whatsapp videos explaining the location and how everything worked, so helpful. I must admit I was slightly nervous leaving my car at the roadside and walking to the site but actually it was fine. Slightly tricky to find the gate to the site from the track in the dark and the track can be muddy so a decent pair of shoes required in inclement weather. Slightly too close to the A1 for my liking but I'm used to a very quiet rural area in Scotland so notice traffic noise. That said, it didn't spoil my stay at all.
The accommodation itself is gorgeous, very very comfy bed, good shower. Well equipped and so long as you're happy being off-grid you'll have a lovely stay.
I'd have preferred to park the car closer to the accommodation or atleast in a yard off the public road. The walk along the public track was slightly tricky in the dark.

This was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet location, where it was just us and nature all around us - from watching the swallows dart about, the heron searching for food and the noises of the horses occasionally neighing, this was bliss.
The accommodation is done to a very high standard and we just loved everything about it.
We used the hottubs and they are just that, large barrels that fill with hot water that you can luxuriate in, there isn't any bubbles and you can arrange to use them on the day with the owner, as there's nothing like the British weather to put paid to outdoor plans.
And although you feel like you are a million miles away from everyone, the town centre is only a short drive away should you need supplies.
If you are looking at a romantic break away from it all, or you are a family of 3 looking for a base to explore the area, you can't go wrong with booking a stay here.
These aren't things I didn't like, just things for others to be aware of: -
You can't drive right up to the Horesebox, you park up and walk about 300 metres along a country path to the site. So you will have to carry your bags.
It is a coolbox, not a fridge, so be aware of this when you are thinking about what food you bring
There is no oven or microwave, you have 2 hobs and the outdoor area for BBQ, so take this into account when thinking about your supplies
Oh, and the coffee supplied is for the cafetiere, it's not instant 🙈

Wonderfully remote location with the horsebox in the corner of its own field, we had beautiful weather allowing us to cook over the camp fire during the evening .... before popping into the hot tubs/barrels and to watch the wildlife settle down and the stars come out. Great info from the host in the form of WhatsApp videos and very quick response to queries. Access to the field is a 200m walk down a public footpath from the roadside parking, and then it's another 100m or so through the field to the horsebox - take a torch and if the forecast is wet take some wellies or at least a change of shoes. Beautiful spot and to agree with other comments, the most comfortable bed!

We had a great night away, in a lovely location, really cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed the quirkiness of staying in a horsebox. The bed was so comfy and the finish throughout was good. A very relaxing night.
We knew the toilet was outdoors but the light wasn't the best, pretty dark with the door shut but we just put it down to experience and it didn't spoil our break.

This property is very unique in a beautiful setting. The horse box is just fantastic and very well thought out with great features and we enjoyed having a bbq and sitting on the veranda listening to music. Shower great and everything easy to work with videos sent by the host explaining. The bed and bedding, WOW! So comfortable and great nights sleep!
We didn’t actually meet the host and we thought the hot tubs would have been ready on arrival however we received a text at 7.15pm asking if we still wanted them and a video showing us what to do. Toilet facilities we didn’t like but we knew it wasn’t going to be a fully working toilet. However less than a whole toilet roll would have been nice when you are in the middle of nowhere!

The amount of wildlife, privacy, comfort and facilities were all amazing and made the trip extra special. Plenty of walks throughout the woods that we thoroughly enjoyed so this was the perfect location for us to go to for that as well.

Where it was! It was absolutely amazing. So private and secluded. Own lovely space. Great value for money. The bed was so comfortable, felt like a little home away from home. Lush little added extras which loads of places just wouldn’t think of! Hot tubs were quirky. I’ve recommended to so many people and I can’t wait to book back up again!

Ashton has done a beautiful job creating this glamping experience. The location is fantastic and feels like we had our own corner of Northumberland to ourselves. The inside of the horsebox is nicely appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We would stay here again!
