Big, bright, beautiful apartment, one floor off street level in the middle of the royal mile. Huge windows to let cool air in and to watch the street performers during the fringe festival. Great base to explore the mile from and centrally located to get back to when a break is needed.
If you have mobility issues, understand that like in most of the older buildings, there is no lift so there is one flight of stairs to go up to get into the apartment. Not a problem for us though.

The location was perfect for us as first time visitors to Edinburgh. Very central to activity yet quiet at night for sleeping. We ate at Copper Still below for breakfast and it was very lovely. Our tour guide found us easily too. The apartment was stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, kitchen soap and teas. More than I expected.
Nothing to really complain. Be mindful that if using the washing machine, there is no dryer machine. A drying rack is available and we set it up in the sitting room. It took a full day for the wash to dry. An electric fan would have been nice as it was warmer than we thought when sleeping.

Host sent very detailed instructions on how to collect keys to apartment and also where to leave them on leaving.
Nice information pack in apartment.
The apartment itself was lovely. Very spacious and clean. Location was ideal for us.
The only unfortunate downside was the very strong smell of cannabis from the second you entered the shared door (we had read this on review but read the apartment itself was fine). Sadly we found that even whilst in the apartment the smell of cannabis was very strong and lingering throughout. This would prevent us from booking or recommending which is unfortunate.
