Aberdovey is two and a half miles down the road with fabulous sandy beaches stretching four miles to Towyn. There is a links golf course and great water sport opportunities. There are shops and excellent restaurants in the town. Towyn is home to the Tallylyn narrow gage railway which stops at the beautiful Dolgoch falls which although a fairly steep climb can reward you with wonderful scenery and the occasional Dipper. The falls can also be reached on the Corris road from Towyn which also take you to Cader Idris, the second highest Welsh mountain. The Salt Marsh restaurant in Towyn is worth a visit. Barmouth is a great seaside day out further up the coast and Harlech, Portmadog and Portmerion are a great day out for the more adventurous. In the other direction is Machynlleth with great antique shops, a weekly market, a leisure centre and the exciting Mach loop where aircraft from R.A.F. Valley practice the flying skills in the valley below the observation points.

Aberystwyth is an easy drive down the coast and is a very large town with large supermarkets (Tesco do home delivery as do the Coop in Macylleth and Asda in Shrewsbury) and a great variety of interesting shops. The sea front is a great walk and leads to the cliff railway at the north end.there is also a major Hospital with A and E.

All the above attractions are available on google and doable in a day.
