Disappointing

Excellent seafront location and view within walking distance to shops and restaurants, comfortable beds and clean sheets. The receptionist (a young lady) was very friendly and helpful.

On arrival the only light in the room was no brighter than a candle. After reporting this to reception, the helpful caretaker changed the bulb very quickly. The shower drain was also blocked and took a good 5 minutes to drain after showering - reported on leaving. Other than that, everything looked very tired and worn - cracked walls, flaking paint, stained carpet, the hot water in the sink was luke warm and one of the chairs was very wobbly.

Great location and basic accomodation that is ideal for anyone looking to stay on a budget.

I've stayed here before and like the location, on the sea front of Aberystwyth. Basic accomodation, was at the Abertoir Horror Fest so was out for most days so this was ideal, for crashing after a day at the festival. Shower was shared, but kept clean, and also great to have free shower gels and shampoos available, either left by other guests or put there by staff, either way good to use up rather than get rid of shower gels. Wifi is decent and works well, complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Only real the bed was a bit uncomfortable sometimes, the tv reception was not great only a few channels available but that might have been due to the weather which was stormy for the first few days.

The location is great. Lovely beach views

How warm and cramped it was. In order to get to our room we had to go up 4 flights of stairs. The room was so unbelievably warm, the radiator is on a timer and I can’t be turned off at all, the fan was also broken it didn’t stay up and kept falling over

Location on seafront very good as is the price. Room was en suite with a small but tidy toilet and wash basin. Coffee/tea/chocolate provided. Ideal for budget break.

Convenient overnight stop.

Too late for reception, but the folder system worked well. Room was warm and comfortable. Ensuite toilet/washroom was a bonus.

Bed could have been a bit softer. Not sure if breakfast was available on Sundays. I could not see a breakfast room, and had to leave early.

The heating was not working and it was very cold in the room due to the high winds. No one around to assist other than an email address which I doubt will get an answer at 10pm.

Great location. Clean. Warm. Lashings of hot water. Basic comfort. Key & door code left in a convenient location as I was a late check-in.

No lift that I could see, so not very accessible. No info. in room for location of shared bathroom, so had to go looking for it.

Great room terrible mattress

Loved the location and the room was clean and bright.

The mattress was really bad. The metalwork was very obvious. One of the shower doors was not on properly. We managed to get the top on but the lower runner was not on. Would have mentioned this before leaving but there was no one there.

Homely and Sweet

The room was cosy! I paid for a shared facilities room and was delighted to find I had a small bathroom with a toilet and sink. The staff were lovely and the room was nice and clean. Location is amazing!

The walls are thin, so there was a lot of noise. The shower was unreliable - very hot or very cold, though if you shower later in the evening/at night its not as much a problem.

Fantastic location but poor quality room.

Right on the seafront.

The bed base in my room was broken and the matteress was saggy at one end and full of springs poking through the other. I explained this to a staff member who advised me to turn the mattress. I'd already done that in both directions but to no avail. With no shower curtain in the bathroom and the shower head fixed above the (thankfully) frosted window it was difficult to shower without getting water all over the toilet and the floor.

Amazing location, the fact that you get a Seaview for the price is brilliant, plus you’re close to everything that you need, perfect location wise, and the best view.

If I’m honest, it probably could’ve been a bit cleaner, as in the bathroom probably could’ve done with a bit more of a scrub, but the bedding was clean. And overall it was okay.

A VERY PLEASANT TWO-NIGHT STAY IN ABERYSTWYTH.

The Cardigan and Celtic Bay Guest House is ideally situated near to Aberystwyth's seafront and town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful and, although my room was on the fourth floor, my bedroom was quite cosy and my bed was very comfortable. Overall, the guest house was kept very clean and tidy.

I would have loved breakfast to have been available.

I like how is so close to the beach and that you can walk a long the front and still get where your going to

I didn’t like how there is no lift for your bags and luggage
