LyeInn - Newstead Country Retreat

Prue and Stu have created a real gem in the heart of the Waikato countryside - close enough to the city, but far enough to truly switch off. Everything was exactly as described, and the value for money is excellent. The farm animals in the paddock add a genuine farm experience that the kids and adults alike will love. The outdoor hot tub is a highlight - sitting there, sipping wine, and watching the endless Waikato sunset is something else. A few small touches that stood out: scissors in the kitchen drawer (sounds minor, but after staying at many places in the region, this was a first!), and a welcome chocolate in the fridge - a lovely little treat. An outstanding experience overall. We'll definitely be back.

Couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi network listed on the information leaflet. A quick text to Prue and she arrived within minutes and sorted it on the spot. Appreciated the prompt response - thank you. A small issue, efficiently resolved.

Absolutely the BEST stay I have ever booked. Everything was perfect, from the comfortable bed to the full kitchen, to the hot tub to the split system air con. The highlight of my trip was being able to jump into the paddock to cuddle Penny the cow and Cookie and Freckles the pigs. I could not fault this stay, and I can’t wait to come back!

Stunning setting, views across fields. Great facilities, coffee machine, everything you need in a kitchen, heat pump. Comfy bed so a great nights sleep Hot tub! Penny Cookie and Freckles added to this awesome place to stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the location and the lovely private outlook, the pigs and cow were a fun bonus :) The bed was soo comfortable and the hot tub was so relaxing:)
