Accommodation was very good and staff very helpful

Lovely venue, and restaurant/buffet areas. Dinner was lovely and staff attentive in The Brasserie although the ploughman’s was more like a ham and egg salad. It wasn’t a ‘ploughman’s’ as we know it. But the dessert made up for it. The buffet breakfast was fabulous! Excellent food and staff. The Stables Pub was also excellent, food fabulous and lovely staff.
The TV in my room didn’t work. So after I’d unpacked I had to re- pack and was given a different room. Might be an idea to check everything is working before allocating a room. The cosy double rooms are very basic. Just a hanging space, a bed, bedside table and dressing table. I was rather disappointed that it was so basic. But the thing I found most unusual was the lack of hospitality tray items. I had one biscuit, one coffee two tea bags and some milk for a 2 night stay. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with so little on the tray. And for a 4 star hotel I would have expected more.
All in all an enjoyable stay and I would stay there again. Maybe in an upgraded room.
