This is a wonderful hotel in Merano. I was very pleased with the decision to stay here. Amazing staff, clean hotel, decent wifi, and the best breakfast among the other hotels that I stayed in. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Very friendly and courteous reception. Albeit somewhat dated (carpet, chair) the room was clean and well maintained. Full breakfast buffet was very well presented and plentiful with excellent personnel. Checking-in and out was seamless. Less than 10-minutes stroll from the Merano train station and around 8-minutes to the historic city centre core where countless cafes and various restaurants could be found. Overall, the Grand Hotel Bellevue contributed to my enjoyable Merano stay.

A four star hotel without aircon or ventilation, without restaurant, swimming pool or fitness room, without in-room fridge or coffee/tea facilities, ironing board, WiFi working at dial-up speed,...? It may be a nostalgic trip back in time, but does not make for a great night on your trip. Grand appearance of former glory, albeit faded, and ambitious staff cannot make up for the lack of investment over the last few decades. Enjoy a decent breakfast and the personal service, and appreciate even more the mod cons your next stay at an up-to-date 4 star property has to offer.

We used the stairs (third floor) instead of the somewhat service elevator that was offered. No restaurant service during our stay. Would have been nice to have had dinner in the hotel since it was pouring down when we were there. The area around the hotel seemed safe enough. Ten min walk to city center. Så to conclude: old hotel with a bit worn charm but the hotel will have difficulty to hang on to its present four star rating (selfproclaimed I guess) without an overhaul of rooms and facilities.
