The Old Factory House

Loved our welcome hamper, thank you! We had so much space as a family of four. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, too. We liked the sounds from the street and restaurant downstairs. You can hear the music and chatter when you're in the lounge which we didn't mind at all, and once you're upstairs you can't hear it. We loved being in the centre of Berwick and able to walk around and explore. A really friendly place and felt very safe and relaxed. We'd love to return one day! We walked the walls, walked out to the lighthouse, jumped on a train to Edinburgh (Camera Obscura and the Museum of Scotland - highly recommend), visited yarn shops and bookshops, Lindisfarne island, boat trip out into the sea, and we hired a court at the leisure centre to play basketball. Ate at Mavi (best moussaka ever had), Marshall's Cafe (next to Go Outdoors, amazing food), and popped into the micro pub nearby.

If you need a firmer mattress, you might struggle, but we slept really well. Remember to shut the windows as those seagulls don't stop making noise throughout the night! If staying in and watching the tv is your thing you might need to turn it up over the sounds from downstairs, but as I say, we didn't mind that at all!

Ideal situation for a multi-generational family group. Very well equipped and prepared.

Great communication. Large accommodation. Well stocked welcome basket. Supplied towels, bath sheet large, also tea towels. Well stocked with toilet paper, so many places have none or a few sheets on roll.

Actually nothing, some reviewers complain about the music from the Turkish Restaurant below, it finishes at 22:00hr and it is not overly loud, just background music, to me beautiful and relaxing music.
