San Rocco Palace

Clean, modern , private, comfortable bed, helpful staff

Reception/lobby 2 blocks away; too many stairs to climb; only 2 bed pillows; no sofa pillows; no desk; lots of street noise; hot water ran out fast

Beautiful modern appartment in the old town, close to so many good places to eat, we had the best meal of our trip in a little bistro on the street! Breakfast delivered to our room was lovely.

Lots of steps up to the apartment, we found it difficult to find but a friendly local restaurant owner helped us out.

We had the room on the top floor of the hotel which was a generous size, and had a lovely balcony with views of the Adriatic. The room was beautiful. The breakfast delivered each day was fabulous. There are many stairs to reach this hotel and this hotel room. We were aware of this set up and were prepared, but guests must understand this physical layout when choosing to stay here.

The only issue was the water drainage in the shower. We had a small lake each time we showered

The location is very central, which is a plus, but it can also be quite noisy. The breakfast was good, but you have to order it the day before and you’re only given one small cup or tea or coffee

Be very careful when booking to check which room you’re actually getting. Based on the photos, we thought we had booked the room with the balcony, but instead we were given a very dark, damp room. We noticed the damp smell as soon as we arrived, and throughout our stay our clothes felt damp as well. There was no coffee machine, toaster or ironing facilities, despite these being listed as amenities. We were provided with just two fruit tea bags and some cheap sachet coffee, some bottled water would have been a nice touch.
