Scalini Palace

Loved the location, the room and super friendly staffs and really enjoyed our morning breakfasts.

Ideal location for the old town. Clean, recently refurbished room, with own small kitchen/microwave. Boutique hotel only has 6 rooms, no restaurant. Breakfast delivery to room on a tray (pre ordered the day before.

We had a room overlooking the alley, where there are bars clubs and so noisy with music and talking to 2pm...a room at the back might have been better.

I liked that fact that it was inside the walls, and was very close to everything, the staff were helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean.

Being so close to everything had its downside, the music and people at night when trying to sleep, Friday Saturday and Sunday nights were noisy, and also the was only six hangers, which was a problem and the staff said that was it and couldn’t get us any more, so trying to hang wedding outfits and clothes for a weeks holiday were a issue 🙁

The location in the old town was fantastic. The AC kept the room comfortable in 30C+ temps. The kitchenette, specifically refrigerator, was appreciated.

For a “four star” hotel, amenities and maintenance didn’t meet expectations. Breakfast (room service only) was a very limited menu and didn’t once arrive at the requested time (sometimes early, sometimes late). No iced drinks (“we don’t have ice”) and the orange juice wasn’t fresh. The shower head needed a good clean - more water came out of seams in the fixture than from the appropriate place. There was no floor mat, so the floor got wet and slippery. We used a towel for safety. We happened to be staying during World Cup, and our room was above a bar that stayed loud well past 2am. There was no warning during booking, or during checkin, that the city had extended opening hours into the early morning. A warning, and a pair of earplugs, seem the minimum bar for a four star hotel.
