The location in Aultgowrie is lovely with classic views of Highland landscapes. Near to the River Orrin and surrounded by rolling hills there aren’t many better places to spend a week or two!. All on the Ground Floor:

It has a private landscaped enclosed garden and is on the outskirts of the Black Isle. Balorrin is situated in the quiet hamlet of Aultgowrie, a picturesque location with beautiful views over high hills and open countryside. The enclosed garden is secluded and has a patio area, garden furniture and small barbecue. Apart from relaxing in the peaceful surroundings, there are plenty of local activities to enjoy, including walking, biking, angling, golf, ornithology, dolphin watching, Loch Ness cruises and a distillery. Inverness is very accessible within 20 minutes and has cinemas, swimming pool, bowling, theatre and good restaurants. A day trip to Ullapool and the West Coast can be reached in 50 minutes.

Our third stay at Balorrin, as always Freydis came to check we were settled in okay. We all love the area, and the ping pong table in the garage! Lots of fun had using that. One or two areas of minor tlc needed, the double bed was a bit springy, and the ensuite toilet fan didn't want to turn off. I also had to retune the freesat box to get a TV signal. Had a tiny problem with midges, they seemed to like hanging around the drive & our car morning & evening. First time we've ever encountered them here though.All in all it was an enjoyable stay, a good base for visiting local places and the area surrounding.
