Douglas House Apartments

It was central and a brilliant spot. Very handy to have a washing machine at this stage in our travels. we left a toothbrush and the owners were incredibly generous posting it back for us.

Slightly too many steps for us with large cases. The sofa is uncomfortable to sit on but we were not planning to sit around but you need to be aware if planning a day resting. Also the dining chairs seem to have lost cushioning so you sink in. Not a biggie but if you are older with sore knees and hips stuff like this makes a difference. So these are not complaints . The place is fantastic so you simply need to be aware. Our view was blocked by scaffolding but the work men were not there on the days we were there so we didn’t have to worry about them looking into the apartment.

Minir feedback. Overall we recommend this and eould stay again. How to further improve this apartment: There is a ventilation/ mould ventilation issue in the hall/shower room. Moisture from the shower is not being extracted effectively. We even left the shower room light/ extractor fan when we went out in the morning. When we returned later the musty mouldy smell remained. The extra fan slats appear partially closed. Need to check the vent ducting is clear to external duct outlet. Could present health liability issues if a person with asthma or immune deficiency /breathing health condition used the apartment due to mould spores in the air (we were ok, but smell noticeable and made worse as fan goes off immmediately when ensuite light goes off. Ventialtion jeeds to be effective /tested and fan shut off timer delay to stay on 5-10 minutes after light goes out)

Fabulous apartment in town centre, spotlessly clean even looks brand new with everything you could need, I made good use of the washing machine as I'm on a motorbike tour round Scotland. I wanted to stay longer but sadly it was fully booked

Beds has uncomfortable springs and apartment smelled like dob pee, mold on tub, and damp smell. Improve bed and clean. As is 6/10... If you made improvement you would have a 10. £410 for 3 nights it should be better. You should also note you have birds nesting by the window which might be a problem.
