This was a really fun stop for us on our highlands trip. A last minute booking out of season, and we were the only ones there. We didn't do any activities as our daughter is too small but they were very accomdating and the continental breakfast was great. The room was huge.
There's no front desk overnight so we were the only ones on site. Which is fine, but just know it's an activity centre offering B&B rather than hotel.

This property was fantastic! Tucked away behind a grand house in a beautiful estate!! We met pheasants, deer and red squirrels in the grounds!
I would have preferred a chain or latch on the inside of the room door. As a female travelling alone with 2 kids I prefer this type of security measure x

The breakfast was really good (nice big selection; toast and tea served to the table) and the staff was welcoming and friendly!
Quite remote and a little outdated

The staff are simply fantastic at this property, super friendly, accomodating and helpful with anything you need.
We did not reallise until our stay but we could take out mountain bikes from the property with no extra cost which gave us one of the best days of this whole 2 week holiday.
Property and the grounds are lovely.
Our room was good, had everything we needed.
There is a common area downstairs where you can use microvave to have dinner at night.
Lots of great places to visit, hike or bike near by.
Wi-fi through the property.
Breakfast was really nice, continential we found was more then enough for us.
The North Coast coffee that you can order as an extra I truly enjoyed and recommend!
I booked a family room but was surprised to finf 4 single beds. Husband and I pushed 2 together to make a double which worked ok.
There are dog water bowls outside but they are always empty, mine was dissapointed every time he reached one.
I wish there was non cash option to leave a tip for staff as they truly deserved it but we had no cash.

The glamping pods are a wonderful experience. You really get to enjoy the peace and solitude of the outdoors while in the comfort of your bedroom. The pods where exceptionally clean and very nice. They continental breakfast in the morning was quite good. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. They are very nice to walk around.

Fairburn Activity Centre has the most welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the Twin Pod which was beautiful, clean and comfy. The staff Ella, Struan and Jess were so helpful and made us feel welcome and relaxed. The history of Fairburn is fantastic - the activity centre dinning room is in the old stables and carriage room. Our booking included a continental breakfast - if we wanted anything more substantial, we could order it at a very fair price. There is a communal fridge for you to store any food in. We had a BBQ on the one night and the BBQ was supplied to us free of charge (no need to purchase disposable ones). The BBQ area is situated in a clearing under a canopy of trees. I will definitely be back.
There really wasn't much I didn't enjoy. The wifi wasn't great but then I didn't expect it to be.

Friendly staff, beautiful location, clean, warm good breakfast for your money.
No shower pressure, beds a little uncomfortable, noise from upstairs a little intrusive and breakfast coffee had no taste.

Wonderful views and peace and quiet.
Good to be able to use the dining room when we arrived late with takeaway.
Excellent breakfast and a superb recommendation of Plocton for a place to visit from a member of staff.

Nice breakfast
Lumpy bed, shower was no more than a trickle coming from the shower head, was very disappointed as it’s in a beautiful spot

The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee provided in rooms. Had a small fan as room very hot(imagine scotland having its 3rd heatwave of the year !) The continental breakfast was included in price and had a great range. Additionally, you could purchase hot rolls porridge pancakes off an additional menu.
Some activities to choose from at an additional cost, lovely walks , and the use of mountain bikes. I only tried the archery, which I loved, and the instructor was very good. Area is nice and quiet and the staff were lovely.
The midges!! Take insect repellant with you

Location is fantastic. I was late arriving due to the distance travelled from home (Stafford). The staff had left the keys to the glamping pod and instructions. Breakfast was good.
It was all good and within my expectations. Perfect accommodation for a lone motorcyclist touring the Highlands.

The isolation of the centre. I was using the location as a base to tour. No TV or limited phone signal, this allows peaceful surroundings.
A view from the cabin, but that was all. I would go back.

Great location "off the beaten track" but not that far from Contin or Dingwall. Extensive grounds / country area.
Rooms in converted stable block very good.
Excellent continental breakfast with fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast, croissant etc
Nice friendly staff.
It was pretty good all round. The shower could be a bit better. Breakfast could be available from 8am (its 8.30).

A must-say hotel near Inverness. A well-preserved historical activity center is located in a beautiful area surrounded by trees and is highly recommended for families and others. The price stood very reasonable and still offers all the amenities like a star hotel including specious open car park space and served breakfast. We did not join on activities as our trip was only for two days I would suggest exploring the local area and trying those activities as well. It is indeed a value-for-money place to look out again in Scotland.
Can't complain much, The bathroom shower did not work, might do a bit more room cleaning. Some rooms were a bit smaller for 4 people to stay. Perhaps a Scottish full breakfast could be served instead of a basic one with an added price.

My daughter and I had a fantastic break here. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

The staff were polite. They could not give me any solution to the problem concerning our rooms, but they fixed our toilet light bulb fast (it did not work when we arrived to the room). The location is quiet and close to nature. There is a nursing home closeby where they, I assume, use animal therapy and their horse stays outside so any passerby can feed it (which my daughter really enjoyed).
I must admit that my perception of the place is probably affected by the fact that the rooms were nothing like the ones we had booked. We had originally booked a double room with a barbecue (on the ground floor I guess, since I cannot think of any other place in which to put a barbecue) and another double room with a bathtub. On arrival we were informed that none of our rooms had a bathtub, which made bathing my toddler an ordeal, and that both rooms were on the first floor with lots of stairs and the barbecue nowhere to be found. Although the barbecue thing is superflous, not being on the ground floor was difficult for my father who needs a cane to walk. When we explained that those were not the rooms we had booked they told us that nothing could be done since they were full up (which I understand, what I do not understand is why the rooms we had booked were given to someone else before we came). Besides, the toilets looked like hospital ones and, with the excuse of being eco-friendly (which you can also be by supporting ecological local brands) they do not provide toiletries, except for a watery liquid soap, do not change your towels daily or give you more than one piece of pastry at a time to avoid waste (all these meant we had to buy shampoo elsewhere and turned up the heather to dry our towels, which I do not find really ecological). It could be a cultural thing or a new trend, but I call it being a cheapskate. Finally, we did not try any of their activities because after this rough start we were not up to any more disappointments.

It all went well. The freedom to do your own thing
Two chairs in the room with a small table would give extra options

Breakfast was really deliscious; warm, buttery croissants, hot coffee, creamy yoghurts, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, marmalade/jam and butter. Served with a smile!
We slept in a Twin Pod, well equipped with comfy wide beds and comfortable pillows. Toilet and shower en-suite with a hot water tank, soap and toilet paper. A small kitchenette with table and chairs, a kettle and coffee/teas/sugars and milk. On the outside porch were two chairs to sit on for spotting wildlife. We saw a roe doe and heard foxes in the night,
Would have loved to stay longer!

Could not find laundry option

Very good breakfast. Even if we were leaving 7 AM, the breakfast was prepared for us the day before. Kind people - always ready to help.
They guided us to the best places to visit - by car and walking trails in the neighborhood.
They accepted our dog's behavior - because he is in his puberty, he could act less well behaved as we would want it.
The surrounding of Fairburn Centre is magnificent.
People make you feel at home.
Absence of water and water cooker in the living room. In the bedroom there was a water-cooker

The experience of being in a glamping pod was very pleasant, especially with the soothing smell of wood. Another plus is the quiet provided by nature which soothes you into a good night's sleep. Also, free parking.
There was no Wi-Fi in the glamping pods, but the real issue was that the check-in staff said breakfast started at 6:30 am, so we organized our day accordingly just to find out that it actually started at 8:30 am. When we wrote through Booking, no one took responsibility, nor we were given a solution. We waited over 1,5h and when staff arrived the lady serving was kind enough to serve us breakfast ahead of time (at around 8:00 am).
