Reasonable price and comfortable enough

Thick face washers, comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom. Fridge and kettle were practical. Reasonably priced. Close to supermarket.

Having to walk to a shared kitchen to wash up was inconvenient. The shower was unlike any I'd experienced. First, working out where hot is. It was plentiful but SO powerful I thought it would drill holes in my skull! Unfortunately, the bath towels were small and thin...unlike the thick and thirsty face washers.

Would loved to have stayed in Dargaville for our 2 nights but had

We didn’t have breakfast. We had booked for 2 nights but had to leave early , and only stayed the first night. We have told many people on our Northland Oddesy, about the butter taken in the carriages to be traded overseas.( We visited a friend in Warkworth whose father worked in the Dairy Company at Kaikohe and had seen the carriages in use. ( well used for butter! ) We loved the ceiling, and the noise of the rain on the roof!

It's a fantastic place to stay!

I loved everything. It is a great re-purposing of train wagons. It was super comfortable, cosy, and clean. I loved the style and modern amenities. It's perfect for a short stay, and the check-in process was really easy and simple. I highly recommend and would return again!

A cosy and a unique experience

Rustic Rails is a unique place ideal for couples or individuals. The converted rail cars are cosy, well appointed and clean. The site is close to a food store and food outlets on the main street. The communal cooking facility is well equipped. The instructions are clear and concise.

Very quirky & cosy, unusual place to stay. Old converted railway box cars. Renovated to a high standard. Very good facilities. The only issue for us was the heat, it was really hot & no air-con. Other than that, it was very clean & comfortable.

Cute railway carriage room for short stay

Very clean, well decorated railway cabin. Charming concept that delivers. Communal kitchen available for additional crockery, cutlery and glassware.

Although we were expecting to be in a small space it was even smaller than anticipated. We had 2 medium suitcases as on a long trip, only one could be open at any time.

Clean, Comfortable and Good Value

Rustic Rails surpassed our expectations. The rooms were spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. Rooms come with a fridge, microwave, plates, wine glasses etc. The showers come equipped with shampoo, body wash and even conditioner (which you don't normally get at motels). The area is quiet overnight and across the road from Woolworths. This was a great, affordable accommodation option for visiting Kaiiwi Lakes and we would definitely book again.

There is no air conditioning in the rooms although we did find the fan was enough to keep the room cool overnight.

The cabin is just a motel room as very little room to cut up food. You wash up in a plastic basin which you can only fill with a cup from the bathroom sink. The area is Industrial.

Fantastic accommodation in old railway cabins. Beautifully presented and decorated. Very close to shops and restaurants. Our host was very friendly, easy check in. Parking at front door was free. There was also a fully equipped communal kitchen, that you could use.

We were late arrivals after a long drive. So glad for a hot shower and a comfortable bed.

Repurposed goods rail carriage makes a great cosy little cabin. Just right for our overnight stay. Fresh milk in the fridge for our coffee was a nice touch.

Not much room along the side of the bed. A bed lamp on one was good, but needed one on the other side as we both like to read in bed.

PERFECT CHOICE FOR A LAZY GETAWAY...ONLY 2.5 HRS FROM AUCKLAND AND LOTS TO SEE ON THE WAY

This is my fourth visit to Dargaville over the past 3 months. Set in a central yet quiet location Rustic Rails is close to the Woolworthes supermarket, shops and eateries. Its is always spotless. The bed is comfortable and the shower has excellent pressure. I like the additional of the small foldable seat to place your clothing or bag.

Welcoming, clean, comfy and cosy.

Having the heater on, so we walked into a warm room when we arrived, was very cosy and welcoming. The way the bed had been made and the linen was just lovely. Thank you.

It would’ve been better if the table in the room was rectangular. The round table seemed to take up quite a bit of room. Perhaps a couple of hooks in the main room to hang a coat - just small things 😊
