Comfortable stay in the heart of Bakewell

The accommodation is small and cosy, but it has all the amenities needed for a two-night stay. The bathroom is decorated to a high standard, which was a lovely touch. The hosts also left a thoughtful welcome gift, which was greatly appreciated. The property is equipped with Google Nest heating, which was simple to use. It was especially nice to have control over the temperature, as it was quite chilly outside during our stay. There is free on-street parking available. A permit must be displayed in the window (provided by the hosts) and returned upon departure, otherwise there is a £150 charge. Check-in was straightforward, with good communication from the hosts. Access is via a key box located on the wall of the property. Checkout is at 10am, 11am would have been preferable, but the welcome book did mention that late checkout can be requested (though not guaranteed). I understand they likely need time to prepare the accommodation for incoming guests and possibly allow early check-in. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. Overall, the accommodation was quiet, and we had a pleasant stay.

Better lighting just outside the courtyard gate (leading into the garden) would be beneficial, as it was quite difficult to see where we were stepping in the dark. Just a minor suggestion, there isn’t a bedside table on one side of the bed due to the narrow layout of the accommodation. Not sure if it would be possible but if the bed was repositioned slightly towards the other side, there is a windowsill that could then be used as a small shelf. This would allow both guests somewhere convenient to place a drink or charge a phone. The shower did unfortunately turn off on my husband on three occasions. I have seen this mentioned in other reviews, so it may be something that requires further investigation. Overall, the accommodation was clean; however, a little more attention needed to the area down the side of the bed and the bathroom extractor fan.

Relaxing stay for our pups first little break away

Clean, quiet lovely little place to stay close to shops, lots of information made it easy to find, we enjoyed our stay & thankyou for the wine and Bakewell pudding!

Bed was slightly to hard for me but that’s just personal view. Bathroom was cold - the heated towel rail wasn’t working

Great communication with hosts pre arrival and during my stay, generous and thoughtful welcoming goodies. Superb location - in the village centre but located in a quiet corner which was ideal, free parking was a wonderful add-on. Very nice decor inside and out with a secluded outdoor area.

The perfect place for a little getaway.

This gorgeous, cosy cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and perfectly located. The Bakewell pudding and bottle of wine were a lovely welcoming treat and the festive decorations added to the coziness.

Absolutely nothing to dislike about the property (the weather, on the other hand, was a different story!)

Such a lovely cosy and character filled cottage with all of the modern conveniences. Well located right in town, walking distance to everything you might need but still lovely and quiet.

Perfect for what we needed.

Lovey cute cottage style accommodation. Great for dogs enclosed courtyard so can’t escape we took our Boston terrier. Everything you need for a self catering stay in kitchenette area. Perfect location minutes walk to most places. Parked just outside property that was perfect and free. Lovey greeting gift of wine and a Bakewell tart. We would definitely recommend and go back.

The Pudding Stop is in a great location in central Bakewell and set in a quiet garden. It was clean with high quality fittings, towels and bedding. Good contact from the hosts and a lovely welcome gift. Perfect.

A fantastic stay in the perfect location!

We loved our stay a lot! We asked for an early check in which we were welcome to! The place was cosy and in a great location, close to everything in town but felt quiet too. A cherry bakewell, bottle of wine and message was left which was a lovely touch- thank-you!!

This little gem of a property is in a perfect location. The property itself had everything you need for a short stay and we will definitely visit again.

All on a flat level which is ideal for my husband’s situation. A few steps to contend with to get to the property but that’s fine. Secluded little courtyard to sit in when the suns out.

Cooking facilities for breakfast didn’t work for us (you had to hold the handle down on the toaster too)but it wasn’t the end of the world quick pop into town for a bacon bun!! Did keep banging my knee on the brick wall my side of the bed but I am all legs and arms at night!!

The location is perfect, very central. Very close Monsal trail! Very close to the pubs as well! I was worried that the property was going to be too small for the 2 of us, and our Labrador, but it was just right! The property had everything we needed and it was great that we had our own little courtyard.

Highly recommend

Very comfortable, quaint little cottage, ideal for us and our small dog. The welcome gift on arrival was a lovely gesture and unexpected as we were only there for the 1 night. Compact but ideal for a well located short break for two.

Excellent quiet and private location, away from the crowds but very close to shops, resturants and pubs. Free parking a big bonus. Outside seating area useful in the hot weather. Good starting point for lovely walks out into the countryside.

No dislikes but suggest that some planting would enhance the outside area. Small size restricts but could design in some more storage space (cupboard etc).

Cozy and comfortable accommodation in the centre of Bakewell, with the bonus of free parking. The welcome note and goodies are a lovely touch by the owners. The space is small but the layout is very well thought through. Very clean

Excellent!

The Pudding Stop was an excellent base for a few days away in Bakewell. The property was spotlessly clean and perfect with everything we needed for the two of us and our dog. Kate and John were exceptional hosts, the Bakewell pudding and wine awaiting us on our arrival was a lovely touch. The accommodation is very close to the centre of town but is very quiet and the free parking was a bonus. We had a lovely, relaxing few days away. Will definitely be returning for another short break. Thank you.

Beautiful little stay in Bakewell

Excellent location, on the doorstep of the town centre but also a quick drive to Chatsworth House and other areas. For a two night stay it was the perfect space for a couple and their pooch. Very clean, quite spacious, and had all the amenities needed. Little courtyard was great for an added private area outside. Would recommend!

Perfect Stay in an Excellent Location!

The location is amazing, so close to Bakewell Centre but still peaceful and relaxing. The little touches like a bottle of wine and Bakewell Pudding on arrival was a lovely surprise and the heating was on so the place was lovely and warm (but not too warm)! The instructions were very clear to find the property!

In winter would be handy to have a folding coffee table to help with indoor eating. Shower pressure was a bit low. Would have been good if I’d realised no hairdryer as I didn’t pack mine
