Anne Cottage, Bakewell, in the Peak District

Lovely location, very clean and comfortable.

Dining area a bit small, stairs are very steep and no outside area; the back courtyard is tiny and dark.

Well equipped kitchen, staff very helpful and went over and above to fix wi-fi

Lovely, homely cottage in this beautiful part of England. What couldn’t you love about Bakewell.

The kitchen equipment and appliances were very good

The stairs are not safe. We are both elderly and both of us have had both knees replaced. Both staircases are steep, particularly the stairs out of the sitting room. The steps are narrow. The banister at the top of the sitting room stair is loose. The heating did not come on on our first night there and together with the draughts from ill fitting doors meant we were cold on that evening. Despite increasing the temperature via the remote no heating came on. The heating did seem to work after day 1 but we were unaware of what time it was due to come on. The time on the remote was not set to BST.
