Location was great for us and being able to park without any issue. Clean, tidy and everything you need Quaint and traditional with everything you need
Shower in kitchen bedroom has low pressure but was tricky to get to a useable temp. This really is being picky though and in no way changed the quality of our weekend. Lovely cottage for the 2 of us and our wee dog. We couldn’t connect the tv to the internet which probably means we didn’t read a manual but it didn’t matter as we watched the laptop. Again don’t bother us but may bother future guests?

A cosy cottage, in he middle ish of Bakewell, near amenities, shops etc.

We made the mistake of waiting until we were in the road before checking the e mail for the lock box number< there was no mobile reception so we had to drive around until we got some. should have got it before leaving home.

Brilliant location for Bakewell, parking right outside the door. Everything you need for a weekend away exploring Bakewell.
Very clean and nice and warm!
Was perfect for what we needed

The location was perfect; just a few minutes walk from the centre of Bakewell. We loved the way we each had our own staircases to our bedrooms with en suites. The cottage had everything we needed and was a lovely home from home. Parking for 2 cars was right outside. Everything worked well and we were sad to leave.
Wish we could have stayed longer!

The main bed squeaked

Location was excellent
Parking no problem
The main bed was uncomfortable, wooden slates which were very noisy when you moved.

No problems collecting keys and gaining entry. Once we found the cottage we were very happy with the location, an easy walk into town. Place had lots of character and was quite quirky. Good that each bedroom had en-suite/bathroom facilities.
Just a couple of minor things we we hope are useful rather than critical. The shower head over the bath is not adjustable so you need to stand very close to the taps/in plug hole. We weren’t sure but thought this might be causing water some sort of leak on to floor which would be worth checking. Also the radiator in the bathroom could do with bleeding, on half warms up.

Good location, 5 minute walk down the hill into Bakewell town. Two parking places outside of the house. Comfy beds. Good wi-fi. Big fridge freezer in utlity room. Good kitchen equipment for self catering.
I'm not sure if the property would be suitable for families with toddlers. The stairs take some negotiating and also I think pans on the hob could potentially be a problem. That said we didn't travel with young children so it's difficult to say! I couldn't get the electric fire working in the living room, maybe disconnected as there is central heating on gas.

Sitting room was very comfortable, it was a small cottage but the kitchen was fully equiped to prepare meals and a separate utility room where things and muddy boots could be sorted out.
Also there was a bathroom by each bedroom making it easier to share with friends
The radiator in the bathroom with the bath was cold.
The stairs were very steep and the light above one stair did not work
The light above the mirror in the bathroom did not work
The mattress on the bed above the sitting room is quite worn so not as comfortable as it could be.

Location, quirky nature of the cottage, communication with owner and welcome pack.

Very pretty period cottage, well located close to the centre of Bakewell and almost opposite the impressive church. Generally quiet street.
Without wishing to be too critical, because our stay was fine, older people (such as we are) might find a few problems with steps and the vertiginous stairs. I would recommend a stair carpet where there wasn’t one; in stockinged feet, I tripped, fell down and hurt my elbow. Also the layout could be confusing, with separate staircases to each bedroom, and a not terribly convenient kitchen area, between cooker and fridge and drawers, again down a step. Operating the heating needed an explanatory phone call with the proprietor, Mike, who was v helpful.

Lovely little cottage in a good location not far from the shops. Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Stairs to bedrooms were a little steep and narrow but manageable. Wouls stay there again.
Only issue we had was tv reception wasnt good at times but overall no other complaints.

Property is in a great location close to the town centre of Bakewell. The cottage is also well equipped
Not a problem for us, but stairs are quite steep and may be challenging for some guests. Also, the back yard needs a very good clean and could not be used

Great location, close to the town but also it was a nice quiet road. Very clean and well equipped, easy parking directly outside the cottage.
Just a bit awkward to get the keys out of the key safe as it was located rather high up.

Great location, just outside the centre of Bakewell. Property was spotless and very well equipped- plenty of crockery and cutlery etc. Layout ideal for two separate couples (possibly less ideal for a couple with children).
Potential bookers need to be aware that the stairs are quite narrow and steep.

Very comfortable, in a great location and a very well stocked kitchen with lots of equipment! A cute cottage, would stay again. An easy walk into town (up a hill)
In one of the bedrooms the street light shines into the room. Needed to purchase an eye mask in order to sleep

As two friends what we like best was 2 en-suite bedrooms …..each with its own stairs.
We enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and generally comfortable. We had issues with the heating being too hot. I understand digital thermostats but the one in the sitting room did not respond to lowering the temperature so we had to turn the heating off at night.
The mattress and pillows could do with an upgrade in the bedroom with the walk-in shower. Not terrible but not great either. For me the first rule of anywhere providing overnight hospitality is a VERY comfortable bed.
For anyone bringing their own coffee capsules ( none are provided ) it is worth knowing the machine is a Dulce Gusto. Not a brand I have ever tried. I always have Nespresso with me as I have found them to be the machines most commonly used in hospitality.
For those with dogs, just be aware there is nowhere immediately nearby for the dogs to have any freedom or opportunity to do their ‘business’ . The adjacent roads are relatively busy with fairly narrow footpaths in places. The only available green area I found nearby was the cemetery.
This may be a contentious point but I find 10am checkouts unreasonable early when on holiday. It meant a very early rise to find somewhere suitable for the dogs’ first outing, have breakfast and be ready to leave by 10am. I think 11am would be much more appropriate.

It was all good. We would have liked to have been able to stay longer.

It was spacious and a good location. Had a washing machine which was essential for us.
8.0 / 10.0
Nice modernisation of a quaint old cottage. Good en-suite bathrooms.
I realize this is not something the owners could improve, but the traffic noise and traffic density directly outside the front door was the only real drawback to the property.

The property is well situated with a stroll down hill to the town centre and everything you need for a great stay.. The walk back is fine if you just take your time. It has a welcoming, comfy and cosy feel. Very clean and nicely decorated. Everything you needed was right there. There was even a small court yard which we sat in enjoying a glass of wine one evening during our stay. Chatsworth House and Heights of Abraham within 10 min drive.
There was nothing we didn't like.

Key safe was a little bit difficult to use in the dark.

Lovely cottage with everything you need for a weekend away. Nice and spotlessly clean too. Anne cottage is in a great location just a stones throw from the centre of Bakewell which has lots of shops, places to eat and some green spaces too. Perfect getaway 😊
Only thing was the pubs and cafes get quite busy. We had a baby and dog with us which ruled some places out for lunch/ dinner and so we struggled to get in for dinner and lunch on 2 occasions!! We should have booked really...so we’d recommend if visiting Bakewell at busy spells to book places to eat in advance!

The cottage had everything we needed. It was really clean, well equipped and in a good location
The ensuite door would not close.
