Excellent location but communication was poor

The location is bang in the middle of Ghent which is fantastic. The apartment is spacious and nicely decorated. Having two bathrooms is useful with 2 young kids! the hosts are lovely but not responsive to messages via the booking.com messenging service.

FYI- there are steep stairs that you need to climb up to get to the top floor apartment so bear that on mind of you have any mobility issues (or buggies and big bags!) We were not given the code to access the keys before check-in day so we had major difficulty getting access to the actual apartment itself. Just ensure you have the access details before arriving and you’ll be ok. There was no duvet on the main bed and I had to hunt down a blanket and cover (which were in separate places) and dress the bed myself!

Die Lage. Zwei Toiletten. Die Betten.

Der Check in: die Hausnummer und den Schlüsselcode bekamen wir nach mehreren SMS erst, nachdem wir von unterwegs (per Fahrrad!) das Geld für die Touristensteuer und die Bettwäsche mit Paypal überwiesen hatten. Der widerliche Geruch in der Unterkunft von einer Handvoll Aromastäbchen. Entgegen der Beschreibung gab es keine zwei Schlafzimmer, sondern nur ein Schlafzimmer und ein Bett im Flur zwischen Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer, nur mit einem Vorhang getrennt. Defekte Steckdosen, fehlendes Treppenhauslicht. In der Küche gab es nur 2 Löffel und keine Geschirrhandtücher, dafür aber viel altes Brot. Insgesamt sehr heruntergekommene Wohnung, insbesondere die Dusche. Sehr dreckiges Treppenhaus.

Im Bad gab es Schimmel. Der Kühlschrank hatte feste ausgelaufene Flüssigkeit vom Vormieter, die nicht ausgeputzt war, Die Kochmulde war verkrustet. Es gab nur einen Teelöffel. Die Duftstäbchen, die sehr unangenehm rochen.
