Cold but comfortable

Location was good only a short walk from Workington Town centre and Bus station and a 15/20 minute walk to the train station. Well equipped, and comfortable property for a very reasonable price. Despite the issues I faced I would definitely book again as a really hand base for exploring the coast and easy to get into the Fells

There were problems with the boiler while I was there (during the first cold snap of this winter) which was unfortunate, although the host did provide me with electric heaters, and I was offered a small refund as well which I appreciated. The instructions to get to the front door and the lock box weren't terribly helpful, they could do with updating, including mentioning that the big gate at the front of the alley (right next to the road) is only locked at the weekend, so current instructions confusing if you arrive during the week! Also not very well lit up there, definitely need to take a torch with you, There were torches in the property, but none of them worked.

Not what was expected, cold, drafty and not all working to expectations of nearly £200 stay.

Location was good, though very difficult to find. Kitchen was functional and bed comfy. Shower was hot and powerful. WiFi worked.

Instructions were confusing to locate property and access due to reasons discussed with out of hours cottages. Only one bed set up with no bedding supplied for 3rd person, had to sleep one night with blankets bought with us, with little heating, and one heater was broken. This was called in and partially remedied the following morning. Toilet didn't flush all of the time, gate was open on arrival, and second gate had a number lock which was stuck closed, which was confusing and turned out that wasn't locked after all. Front door was stiff to open and lock with the key, at one point we had to leave it unlocked for fear of not being able to unlock it again. Only one cheap toilet roll was supplied for 3 people for 2 nights. Drafty and cold to the point we had to have the hobs on to try to warm the place a bit more in the mornings. No directions on how to get disc parking so had to park carefully up the ally to the house. No lock on bathroom door. Even after having to have someone round to get the extra bedding out of a locked cupboard, no spare pillows were given for 3rd person. Socks and tactics found behind the bedroom radiator which was hanging off of the wall...poor heating so was trying to turn settings up and it moved another, and the items fell out.

Well equipped, could be cleaner.

Layout of house cute and near shops, comfy beds with lovely comfy pillows and clean fresh bedding. Kitchen had plenty of crockery etc. Clean cooker and fridge. Internet excellent. Games, books, DVDs . Had everything you would need.

Smelled damp, some wooden furniture had mould on them. The kitchen had an odd smell. Carpets grubby. Windows very awkward to open and close. Some people may not like the late, loud music from pub next door but the songs were good.
