Some upgrades would be good

The location is terrific, close to Sellamat and Iltios, so access to skiing and walking trails on foot. Post bus every half hour and walking distance from hotel. Bus service free for the section that serves the ski area, hotel owner provides the necessary tickets. Terrific view from front rooms. Friendly and helpful owner with wonderful dry sense of humour. Rooms clean but small. Cross country track passes hotel.

The building is stuck in the seventies (or sixties?) Bathroom tiny with good shower but very tight space for toilet. No space for a comfortable chair and no lounge where you can escape tiny room. Entrance to building and stairs small and dark, no reception area. Just painting the space white would improve first impression. We couldn’t help thinking that even small upgrades would improve everything - extra shelf and some wall hooks in bathroom, new towels (clean, but they look like they’ve survived since the seventies too), full length mirror and paper basket in room, new curtains, paint. Replacing floor coverings may be more than the current owners want to invest, but a general upgrade would certainly increase the value of the property.

Just five minutes by foot from station of cable car to Iltios/Chäserrugg Very friendly host No-frills room equipment with everything needed for a calm skiing holiday Breakfast from 7:30 onwards allows to start skiing from the opening of the area (8 am) Free parking in front of the door Heated room for skiing boots and skis No traffic noise in room despite being on the main road - due to good windows Affordable restaurant with typical food of the area

If you want amusement, this is the wrong place (e.g. no TV in room)
