Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes, because Buxton’s unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). This is an excellent two-bedroom condo with one-and-a-half baths. The interior has been professionally-decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio, and there are plenty of appliances, counter space, and cabinet storage in the full kitchen. The living room is a great place to enjoy a movie night with friends and family after a fun day on the beach. Have some work to do during your stay? The high-speed WiFi will make it easy for remote workers and students to perform some online research for those last-minute projects. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

This unit is currently under new ownership and has been completely renovated with all new furnishings, paint, flooring, and appliances.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Family trip. The unit was as described. We enjoyed our stay. There is a closed “section” of beach near where the original lighthouse was located. This didn’t affect our stay. We had enough beach for the ladies to enjoy. The local community is wonderful. You can cook at the unit and/or visit a local restaurant. Great trip.

Always a great time when we go to OBX specially in this house where we can watch the sunrise every morning from the back porch. The dogs love cause we can just go walk directly onto the beach without any issues. Love that there is a washer and dryer in the house to wash all of our clothes and blankets before we leave or during as they get Sandy or dirty. This was our second time we stayed in the house. The couch could be a little more comfortable that would be the only thing I would recommend. It’s just some new living room furniture. I did love the new high top dining room table they put in was a great addition to the space.

We enjoyed its location, even though the beach was closed it would’ve been helpful if it was updated to include this info. But was able to find a public access during the stay. It did its job and was enjoyed.

Nice rental - very clean. Kitchen was nice - but we didn’t cook. Too many good restaurants/pubs. Slippery interior stairs. Nice walking neighborhood and very short walk to the beach!
