Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rentals to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes, because Buxton’s unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). The interior has been professionally decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

A super location that’s so close to the beach. A very nice view of the Cape Hatteras park and the Lighthouse. The view and the breeze on the back porch is very pleasant and enjoyed the Strawberry moon rise during our stay. House is clean with nice furnishings and very reasonable price. So many good things about this property. We will definitely be back.

For what we paid this place was not worth it. We have stayed in a number of units at cottages at the cape. They are basic but clean and well stocked. However this unit(and the one next door rented at the same time by my sister and her family) had beds that are in need of replacement. All queens in which two people could not sleep comfortably because they sagged in the middle. In addition one of our rooms did not have any blinds and a call to the maintenance line yielded no response.
Also don’t be fooled by your vacasa emails and texts. There is no code to get in. You must stop at the Hatteras realty location in Avon to get your keys.
I am deeply disappointed with the customer service with Vacasa (on hold for over 15 minutes every time you have to call) and would like to highly recommend Hatteras realty go back to actually managing their own bookings.
