Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes, because Buxton’s unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). This is an excellent four-bedroom condo with one-and-a-half baths. The interior has been professionally decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically.
Guests will have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October depending on weather.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles.
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

I rated this rental a 4 because it really is in a great location, quiet, family friendly area. Short little walk to the beach access. Little playground great for kids. But the home can definitely use a good deep cleaning and some updates, especially the kitchen. It has the bare minimum to cook with so plan to bring anything you’ll definitely need. The pool is a short drive down the road and was nice, my grandson loved pool day! We had a great family vacation and really enjoyed our stay in Buxton! Love the small town feel of it with some of the best little coffee shops and bakeries.

We loved the house, it was clean and had everything we needed. The walk to the beach is just a couple minutes!! Only downfall is the listing makes it sound like you have a pool, but once we got there, we found out the pool is not on property and it is a 15-20 minute drive to another property to use the pool.
We would stay here again, just would have liked to know that the pool is not close by.

The home has a partial view of the ocean and is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Also the playground is right outside the home! The air condition and the ceiling fans kept the house very comfortable in high humidity.
The starter pack provided includes two garbage bags, two dishwasher soaps, one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom (maybe one extra per bathroom I can’t remember) and one package of paper towels.
The stater pack lasted a house of 4 adults and two kids the three nights. If you are staying longer bring along more essentials.

Was contacted by property manager about make sure everything was okay. Texted back that the place needed a deep clean. Baseboards dirty, cobwebs on the toilet plungder, windows needed cleaned(had either handprints or (dog) nose prints, railing loose. Sent pictures. Was told we would be contacted the next morning about these issues. No one every call or contacted us. Just a disappointment.
