This retreat offers the perfect home base for your next adventure - you are within walking distance of the beach and close to fantastic local attractions, including the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Frisco Mini Golf & Go Karts, Avon Fishing Pier, Frisco Native American Museum & Natural History Center, and Graveyard Of The Atlantic Museum. In addition to a wonderful and unbeatable location, you are also granted access to the community outdoor pool at Club Hatteras.
Upon entering this beach charmer, you will be led to the main living space by a flight of stairs. Discover a welcoming, coastal-themed living room where you all can unwind, spread out comfortably while watching TV, and start planning your adventures. The well-equipped kitchen has all the essentials to prepare culinary masterpieces for the group, so don't hesitate to stock up on groceries and show off your cooking skills. The kitchen opens onto a covered deck with seating that faces the cul-de-sac while the living room opens onto a second screened deck with an outdoor dining area. This floor also houses a designated laundry room with a washer/dryer. Sleeping arrangements include three bedrooms located on the upper level, each with its own TV.

Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
The pool is typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day - weather permitting and subject to close without notice.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Beautiful property and close to the Hatteras lighthouse! The downside of the location is the beach access. The best beach option is driving to the beach at the lighthouse...which is fabulous. We would stay here again!

Great place for a vacation. Beach a short walk away, and a bit more off the track than Frisco or some of the bigger beaches. House was solid, and appreciated the extras - washer/dryer, plenty of plates, microwave, dishwasher. Only complaint more of an aesthetic one - the TP and towel fixtures are inexpensive and on arrival the towel rack was off and stored under a sink. Plenty of towels, the back shower was nice, and the immediate neighborhood is fantastic for food. Do watch out for the small cacti and metallic burrs throughout the grass - our feet and pets didn't like that aspect. Oh, and to mention, so nice to find a welcoming place for dogs. Highly recommended

Overall we enjoyed our stay at scallop but were disappointed with some aspects. Upon initial walkthrough, the house appeared to be clean. However, after being in the house after a bit, we found the baseboards to be filthy, black scuff marks on many of the walls, the throw pillows on the couch had a odor to them and there were multiple clumps of golden retriever hair that we swept up (we did not have a golden retriever dog so this was left from previous guests). The floor was sticky so we had to mop our first night to feel comfortable during the rest of our stay. We also found a cockroach on the first night. The house itself is lovely and has cute furnishings but the cleaning crew needs to be much more thorough. The beds, couch and lounge chairs were very comfortable. We enjoyed the screened in porch and front deck. We liked that the property had shampoo, body wash, dishsoap, laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent available for use. The property has a washer, dryer and outdoor shower which we liked. We were extremely disappointed to find that there is no pool within the community like advertised and that the pool facility available for use is about a 20 minute drive into avon. I asked multiple months prior to the stay if the pool would be open for use during our stay and was assured it would be, however, it was closed a few days prior to our stay. We were also disappointed in the location as the beach was inaccessible and closed due to a fuel spill and live cables on the b
