This neighborhood is bordered by a national park and just steps from the beachfront, making the Cottages at the Cape perfect for your family's next vacation! Nestled within a beautiful resort village on Hatteras Island, this vacation rental is one of the closest suites to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. Inside, the home has been completely renovated with new paint, furnishings, and flooring, bright from the natural light streaming in through the living space windows. Use the free WiFi to research a fun new recipe to experiment on and get cooking in the full kitchen to create something special for tonight's family meal.
A stroll will take you right to the beach. After a day in the surf, you can use the suite's outdoor shower to spritz away the sand before coming home to kick back on the living room sofa to watch a good show or movie on the TV or head outside to the screened porch to read a favorite mystery novel. Don't forget to bring the family bikes, because Buxton's shopping, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close.
Forget the 4WD vehicle because three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will get you to the open beaches and the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, you may pass a few sea turtle nests - just give them some room by staying outside the barriers!
Guests will have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on the weather.

We stayed here for 4 nights the last week of June. The weather was beautiful, though surprisingly very hot! The house was located in a cute town in the southern outer banks. It is not super touristy, but we enjoyed the quietness of the location. The neighbors were quiet in the early mornings and late evenings and were all friendly. The beach is recently re-opened and is a very short 3-5 minute walk, though careful for the prickers in the grass between the condos (wear shoes). The waves are also very big and brutal, so beware! The house was perfect! It was a cute two story and when you were in the bedrooms, you could not hear people on the first floor. It is a condo, but you could not hear the neighbors either. We had no issues with the condo, and the check in/out instructions were very clear. The only thing that was not clearly put in the listing is that the pool is not on the property. It is a little less than 10 minutes down the street. The picture makes it appear as though it is located on the immediate property. Still close enough to come and go as needed if necessary, but easy to make trips to it. We will definitely be back, and I will be referring friends and family to this location in the future!

The title of the listing says "with pool", when in fact the pool is miles away in a different location, at Club Hatteras. We did not use the pool due to this inconvenience. The house and neighborhood were quiet and clean with a view of the Hatteras Lighthouse nearby. Overall, a good stay, but we would have preferred knowing the house did not have a pool, just access to a community pool that is NOT within walking distance.

What a perfect "spot" for the k9 family. It was so refreshing to feel so welcomed with our guys. The stairs were a little much for our 15yr old so we had to carry him up and down but we're happy to do it. Someone mentioned hearing the neighbors but we didn't find that to be true and even discussed it with them outside about how great the sound insulation was. The beach access is closed due to cleanup, but other than that it was perfect. Great views from the enclosed back porch as well.

We loved the house- the location was great. The furniture was really nice and comfortable. Only disappointment we had was that the beach right out from the house was closed, but a couple minute drive got us to a nice spot. We would definitely rent again!
