Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes, because Buxton’s unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers).
Back at your vacation home, you'll be met by a completely remodeled townhouse. Boasting new furnishings, paint, appliances, bedding, and flooring, you're guaranteed to have a vacation you'll always remember. After a fun day out, relax in the living room and wind down with your favorite shows on the TV. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen ensures you'll have everything you need to make memorable meals or just small snacks if that's all you're in the mood for. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio, perfect for rinsing off after frolicking in the sand earlier in the day. As the day comes to an end, choose from one of the comfortable bedrooms, all of which are equipped with TVs for your viewing pleasure.

Guests can enjoy access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

We've been renting Clownfish almost every year since Cottages at the Cape has been renting. We love the house and the location! The beach is honestly a few easy steps away!
Very close to great restaurants. Just wish the government would clean up the lighthouse beach so it can be reopened; we would take several walks to the lighthouse during g our week there.

This was a fantastic stay at the Clownfish! Excellent location. Close to beach. Super clean with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Nice flooring. Well stocked kitchen. King bed was super comfortable, but queen was a little firmer.
Great place for couples or family. It does have 3 levels of stairs but living area is on 2nd level. Great views of the ocean. Very nice screen porch that looks out toward beach. There is construction but it didn’t seem overwhelming.
Great place to stay.
Pets: Lots of sand spurs
Beach Access: Might be a little difficult due to beach erosion but can change from day to day?
