If I am back in Cologne again I will stay here.

A really warm welcome. Interesting architecture. Some people in reviews have not liked the bedrooms - I say to them if you want boring book a chain hotel. The bedrooms had absolutely everything you could need you just need to look at the tiny stickers on the panels that indicates what lies behind them. It first I thought the lighting at the bedside was inadequate until I discovered that the strip on top of the headboard is a light which hinges out. It was also a good walk along the river nearby.

They don't do dinner. We were recommended a couple of nearby places but stupidly didn't book so finding somewhere nice to eat was a bit hard (it was the Friday before Christmas so our fault)

It's a dream come true without breaking the bank.

Your staff are super friendly and helpful. The lady, Valenia (I hope I spelled it right) in the kitchen is super courteous and she runs everything efficiently and keeps the place clean. All the front desk staff are great - kind and patient. A shout out to Andrés and the lady (whose name I cannot recall) who works night. Andrés assisted with getting a doctor's appointment. The breakfast is amazing with a wide selections. Location is convenient is quiet and safe to walk at night as well as close proximity to public transportation.

The gym - dark and scary. Feels like in a dungeon! Perhaps relocate it to where we look out at the garden.

Stylish and functional

The renovation of the historical building is a great success. In the room, there are various thoughtful features and the space of the small room is very well used to maximise light, storage space and elegance.

Good location, but not the cleanest hotel room

The location was great and the staff were nice.

I noticed the duvet cover was the wrong way around and was going to correct that when I was confronted with the dirtiest (previously white) yellow stained duvet I think I have ever seen. The duvet was also too small for the whole bed, and the room felt a bit cramped. Definitely not what I expected given what I paid.

Cool place, great location, and intriguing history.

On my latest trip to Cologne I was staying for a total of two weeks in and around the Cologne area. I picked this hotel due to it's proximity to the University and it looked cool from the photos. The rooms and general vibe was very artsy and quirky, which I like. The breakfast was wonderful and the hotel was quiet. Very pretty place.

Everything was very nice, the only thing lacking, and most people won't really care, was the 'fitness room' was an elliptical machine and a single cable machine. I would have liked a few dumbbells and maybe a cushioned yoga mat for stretching and floor exercises.

Enjoyable

The room was very comfortable and beautifully designed. It was compact but the storage was very clever.

The shower flooded the bathroom floor if you didn't stand right in front of it and the mirror to the side of the sink rather than behind made it hard to shave.

overall was very nice hotel and staff and room was comfy, just issues with being woken by voices

hotel was very relaxed, nice staff, room was comfy. great location

i asked for a quiet room and was given E04 on ground floor. the seal around the room door was not tight so you could hear the staff in the corridor talking outside their office and even at 0600 in am i got woken by voices in reception/bar talking as the sound carries and also door opening and closing from guests coming in and out of rooms next door. would recommend you add a sealer strip round and at bottom of door to stop sound coming into room and also close the glass fire door to stop sound form staff office and reception/bar area reaching the room.

Great neighbourhood location with restaurants , cafes Quirky layout of rooms , great use of space and storage , very cosy and good facilities Superb ethos for the environment. Breakfast in an enjoyable location with great quality food. All staff friendly and will go out of their way to support your stay.

Good value for money in a pretty part of town.

The location was excellent, near Chlodwigplatz in one of the prettiest Cologne neighbourhoods. Near cafés, restaurants, a supermarket, bakeries, a drugstore.

I found the furniture arrangement crowded with little space to move freely. If you are travelling with a suitcase there would be no space to place it.

The building itself is beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff and good quality breakfast! Rooms were nice.

Summer /cologne is hot and humid. The room would have benefited from an air conditioner. Also my room was facing the street so I had to compromise between too hot and too noisy

A great place to stay in central Cologne within easy access to the Rhine and main sights of the city

Very clean. Great location. Extremely helpful staff. Attractive entrance. Very good shower. Breakfast was plentiful and varied although not included in our room cost.

No bedside lighting. No luggage rack for luggage in bedroom. No guest soap shampoo or other cosmetic items provided just liquid soap.

Well designed rooms in historic collegiate building, breakfast In refectory of former chapel. Located in hip Südstadt in a quiet street.

The single room was fine and well designed monk’s room, though a Nespresso machine would be nice.

Good permanence

Nice location, in a quiet neighborhood, very well connected by public transport. The building is clean and welcoming and has the charm of an old structure. The room is clean and comfortable, particularly the mattress.

The room is a bit small for 2 people and there is only one chair. Duvets are very warm and that makes it necessary to sleep with an open window. The pillows are too big and soft (but this is a personal opinion). No small shower hose and the water jet is somewhat weak.

A hotel with character

Friendly staff, I arrived on women's day and they welcomed me with a flower :) The building has character, it has been a church and the dining area is absolutely beautiful seeing the colourful glasses of the church and ceiling

Room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Neighbourhood/location is nice. 15 min walk from city center and also the neighborhood itself had plenty restaurants/bars/shops. Building (former church) is nice.

Overall it was just a bit overpriced. For this price we have stayed in much better hotels in Germany. I havent read other people saying this in the reviews so maybe we paid more than usual because of a busy weekend? Small things like things below made it feel a bit like a budget hotel: - Lots of noisy guests during the night time. - Shower/bathroom is one big design-flaw. Almost impossible to keep the bathroom dry during showering and no proper closing door which is horrible when you use the toilet. Only space to store luggage is in the bathroom. Who designed this?? - no electrical sockets near both bed sides. Its 2023. - small room - Lobby/Bar was depressing. Overall: not really bad but it was just too expensive for the experience

Excellent location for a city break in Cologne, only a short walk to well connected bus and trams. Room was comfortable and clean.

The room was very functional and smaller than anticipated based on the listing. Fine for a city break where you only come back to sleep, but not if you need to come back to the room to relax. The shower also did not have a screen or curtain. Whilst I understand this is to do with maximising the space, it did mean the floor was consistently wet and needed a lot of towels to dry up. Towels were plentiful and changed daily so this didn’t make too much of a difference luckily.

Very nice big room and comfortable bed. Nice interior design, clean and cosy. Very good hotel location.

I would have given a 10 but some things we did not like: You can hear everything from the other rooms, no noise cancelling doors. No shower screen so that the entire bathroom floor gets wet after showering.
