I felt like I was an inmate at Cell Block H

Absolutely nothing

The only view of the mountain was through the bedroom, which we were forced to look at because the blinds wouldn't lower. The numerous don'ts and the scruffy written messages inside cupboards were insulting. The white towels were tough and greying indicating years of use. The TV in the bedroom didn't work and the fridge was pointless as were the numerous drying racks on all the radiators. The bed was very small and whilst probably a double, seemed more like a 3/4. The "No Entry" sign, the bike chain on the cupboard and the massive cylinder lock didn't serve to make us feel comfortable or welcome. Whilst decor is a personal taste, we did find the blue feather lamp looked like something that a member of Village People would wear on his head!!

Nice stay in Belfast

This was a lovely property to stay at. The location was quiet and not far from downtown and had a lovely backyard.

It would have been nice to have 2 towels for showering and a hand towel for drying your hands in the washroom, and somewhere to sit in the backyard would have been nice as well.

Run-down and super-dirty

Spacious, free private parking on the driveway, self-check-in.

The property is pretty run-down, but I could tolerate that if it were clean. But also, we found this property to be super-dirty. Before booking this place, I read the reviews from previous travelers and saw that many appreciated the high level of cleanliness. Unfortunately for us, we found a huge mess, the kind of mess that's not there for just a few days, but the kind of mess that accumulates over a long time of the place not being cleaned properly: thick dust and hairs on the floors, carpets and baseboards, thick grime on the light switches, on the cooking hood, on the washing machine, on the kitchen cabinets, on the door handle, on the cooking appliances and on the dinning table. There were many strands of hair on our bedding, too. When I brought all these issues up with the host at check-in, she said she would send the cleaner the next day, but the cleaner wouldn't have time to fix everything. The host insisted the bedding was freshly washed for us. I can't argue with that, but there were a lot of hairs on our pillows even before we used them. There was no toilet brush, so we couldn't properly clean the toilet after using it. The cleaner indeed came the next morning, but she only cleaned the airfrier and the microwave. Everything else was still filthy. When asking the host for compensation for the trouble, she said that I already got a 10% discount when reserving the place via Booking.com, and I shouldn't expect anything else, and if I'm not satisfied, I can check out earlier and move somewhere else. So if you appreciate a high level of cleanness and want a stress-free stay, you're better off taking your business somewhere else - that's basically what this host told me to do.

Feels like being on holiday while living at home.

Spacious, clean and comfortable semi-detached in a quiet, hillside suburban street, with beautiful views overlooking the mountains and the city. A real home from home. Very convenient distance to Belfast and airport. Shops and supermarkets very close by. Hosts very responsive and helpful.

The house was lovely and clean Decor was just lovely Off street parking Warm when we arrived.

Heating was on a timer Due to cold weather woke up cold due to heating being off No Milk for coffee or tea. Fireplace is only order-mental sadly

Choose this house with your eyes closed for the next reasons: very nice neighbourhood, private parking ( on the property, next to the house ), self check-in / check-out with lockbox, instant communication with the owner previous and during the entire stay, spotless, big rooms and with enough storage space, good internet ( still with a few interruptions ), close to the city center ( by car, no more than 10 minutes ).

It is not a downside, just a remark: it would have been nice to have full control for the heating system in the house ( however, it was not a problem for us, it is just for being independent during your stay ).

Awkward place with a feeling of couchsurfing / home exchange.

Place was easy to find and check-in was unproblematic. Contact with the owner was good and we have received all needed information - how to close the door, what is the Wi-Fi password, etc. Price was attractive, but knowing the standard now, I will choose other option.

It was very frustrating to find out how to close the door, I believe it should be one of the most important things described in the house manual. You have a bit overwhelming feeling of the fact that someone is living there and may enter any time, this is personal feeling, but made me feel unsafe. I did not expect the house to have private stuff of anyone else there - personal pictures, shoes in the hallway, 3 closed rooms that you don't know if someone is staying in or not. It caused a really uncomfortable feeling for me. And also photos used on booking.com do not show the amount of private belongings that is there in reality, the title highlights the fact that the home is not shared and there is no information in the description that there will be things of the owner there. Other than that - the toilet flush did not work, water pressure was really weak, the house was worn out, the duvet was like a thin mattres (did not bend at all), there was a breakfast station in the room with strawberry jam but nothing to use the jam with. Awkward place with a feeling of couchsurfing / home exchange. None of the AirBnBs nor Booking stays was as weird as this one.

Property was warm comfortable and very clean for our stay. We had tea bags coffee refreshments waiting on our arrival It was extremely well equipped with a TV both in the bedroom and living room with Netflix games consoles ect, we had a very comfortable stay the house is a real home away from home kitchen has everything you could need It was very convenient for us to be able to cook our own meals. Was only 5 mins from the shankill road were we completed a tour of the peace walls learning about the history of belfast House was 10 minutes from Belfast City centre by taxi, there was also a bus stop at the bottom of the road lovely views of the city from the front of the property and mountain views from the back. The host was very responsive to texts and helped to arrange a tour of the peace walls for us and an early check In Will absolutely be back!

the location

toilet wouldn’t flush spent the whole stay topping up the Cystern with water, oven didn’t heat up,grill only worked on one side. found cannabis stalks on fireplace. cupboards and draws cable tied closed. washing left in washing machine, trays left on drainer hosts was not very helpful after being contacted to inform of issues wouldn’t stay here again defiantly not.
