Poor cleanliness but otherwise good value for money

The location in Sheffield was handy and check-in/out were easy and at convenient times. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The coffee facilities in the room were good.

The bathroom in particular was very dirty. One of the towels had several marks on it and the floor had visible dirt. The view from the window was fully obstructed so there was very little light. The toilet paper had odd marks on it.

Right in the middle of Sheffield but we didn't hear any noise late night (we were quite late back ourselves). Room was comfortable with a decent shower. Good breakfast.

Friendly city centre hotel

Lovely restaurant and hotel in the centre of Sheffield. Convenient for theatres, museum, galleries and the Winter Gardens. Clean comfortable and quiet. Room was spacious. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly welcoming and professional. Great value for money.

Great central location. Very convenient having your room, bar and restaurant in one building. I travel for work alone and Sheffield can sometimes be a worry to walk alone, feeling like I can stay put all evening is a plus.

Don't book here if want a quiet night's sleep and to feel safe....

Location is great. Room looks modern. Staff overall friendly/helpful. Bed comfy and plenty of charging points and there's plenty of space within the room. No noise from restaurant. I was able to check in earlier.

Disaster of not being able to get in the room which was handled very well by staff member and able to over look that but fortunate it happened on check in! Unfortunately need more batteries for tv remote as unable to switch channels so that was frustrating. Come to a good night's sleep just didn't happen as the air vent was so noisy and no one answered the night porter phone, i rung several times and i couldn't access the check in desk (within the restaurant as door was locked) and made me feel very unsafe if i actually needed help. There is no other number or way to get staff attention or how do we get help if no desk to report to? It is a shame but as i did like room and location but come to wanting a quiet night and good night's sleep and to feel safe, as a lone woman i wouldn't stay here again. I really think there should be a separate reception desk away from restaurant and a number guests can call and get help and someone answers the phone, i rung so many times from night porter phone, gave up after i couldn't access downstairs, and i don't know if there is access which was also a concern. Also not told what to do when returning late and how to gain access to hotel, was only til i saw it in the booklet. I also didn't like left luggage was in sight within restaurant as check in desk isn't manned 24/7, should really be locked away. I feel there's some major things that are overlooked which need to be addressed. Access/security/safety and support and making the accommodation equally as important as the restaurant.

Christmas in Sheffield - great stay!

Quiet area considering centre of town. Super close to all shops and bars. All public transport super close by.

Air conditioning was constantly needed either for warmth or cooling due to lack of windows. There was a window but we were below street level so no view and no option to open window.

Room was clean, bed was very comfy. Breakfast was good but a couple of extra vegan options would be good for me. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Right in city centre and convent for trains, trams and buses.

Great city centre hotel in a great city.

The hotel is elegant and clean. It's in a great location. The staff are absolutely lovely. The shower was really good. There was tea and coffee provided in the room and the bed was comfy..The only reason I said the room was good rather than excellent was that it was slightly cold, not sure the heating was working. Breakfast is worthwhile.

A gem in the centre of Sheffield

An excellent location, we had a great stay here. The family room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Everywhere looked clean and tidy upon arrival. The lamp on the bed was broken but we werent affectes because it still worked, however it was swinging from the wire. The Innkeepers Door is a little rickety and could be pushed open without a key card so security could be compromised. There is, however, a second lock to the corridors, so we felt safe enough. Breakfast was nice but slightly disappointed with the eggs across 2 days. As such we opted to not have breakfast for our third day. The fried eggs were clear/raw on top and unappetising. The second day, due to this, asked asked for poached. The poached eggs were cooked with vinegar in the water, a method I use myself to help binding however the chef had used far too much and the eggs tasted heavily of vinegar and were bitter. Once I'd had a few bites of breakfast I was put off. The staff at breakfast time were attentive and lovely. I didnt complain because it would have delayed us eating and I have a 6 year old to contain, so we left it.

Check in was good and we was allowed to leave our bags aside the tills. I'd have preferred bags to be safe behind the counter but beggars can't be choosers. Overall we had an excellent time and will return again this December.
