Great but not fantastic

The room was clean the bed was comfortable, the breakfast great.

The attitude of the staff re: deallng/communicating with someone who is hearing impared was not the best. Resulting in a misunderstanding about a restauraunt 3 course deal and taking my booking for after the kitchen had closed. They did try to make amends by offering room service but by this time it was late, I was tired from travelling so didn't enjoy it ay much as I could have. Which is a shame as i chose to stay here after a previous great visit in Angust 2024 not long after the hotel had opened.

Lovely rooms. Don't book the restaurant

Lovely room, very modern and clean

We booked half board, we could have eaten out in Sheffield but devided to give the hotel a chance. The food was terrible. We will not return to this hotel for that reason. We complained, and the staff tried to sort the issues out. The hotel needs to either train their chef's or provide better ingredients. We didn't have breakfast the next morning due to the quality of the food the night before.

Fabulous hotel with minor inconveniences.

The hotel is close to all amenities and shops. The room was very clean and spacious, bed was comfy and the bathroom was large. We did order room service and when it arrived it was indeed delicious (steak).

Didn't like how room service was operated, was abit hard to get hold of anyone and was waiting for confirmation over an hour so had to wait until we got back to the hotel to eat as we had plans. Was also charged twice for parking and have not been refunded.

Fully enjoyed the stay except the breakfast.

Pastries, breads, drinks, berries and yoghurts

Breakfast poor. Food barely warm. Plates cold. No fried eggs, tomatoes, black pudding or hash browns. Only two very green bananas in the fruit bowl. Got the breakfast at the reduced rate but still not worth it.

decent hotel but excessively overprice and bad pricing system

I was very frustrated at check in as it took around round 20 mins to get checked in. large queues and slow staff. then at check in I got chatting to other guests to find out they'd booked their rooms in the last week or so and were paying a lot less than me - I booked 2/3 weeks ago. this was very upsetting

price - £193 for small room was crazy

Loved it, few niggles but will def be back.

Breakfast was elite, things you'd only get at a 5 star resort. Really nice. Coffee machine had cappuccino as well. Everything was cooked well, except the sausages but i asked the chefs to recook some so they were darker, which they did. Mushrooms were boiled in water rather than oil, which was great. The reception staff were brilliant, they held my bag for a few hours before checkin while i went out for lunch. The room was lovely too. Reception gave me two cards so i was able to leave heating on when i left. Couldn't leave it on at night as the fan was too loud. Pillows were great on bed, different choice of thickness.

I didn't like the view from the room as it looked down upon bins and a cellar. I didn't like the toilet position behind the door in the bathroom, ok for me but if i had children I'd have no knees left as the door would have hit me. I had problems using the lift as it wasn't obvious to use your card to make it move, and even when i did you have to take the card out of the wallet. The bar prices are astronomical. Upon entering the bar at 5pm there was only me and another couple using the bar which was off putting as its such a large area. I soon discovered after ordering an Archers and Lemonade that it was prices that had put people off. £13.50 for one drink, when i few hundred yards away i got 2 for 1 cocktails for that price! Given the hundreds of bars in Sheffield you might want to reduce these prices. I also didn't like the coffee in the rooms. You provide top notch tea (twinning's) and Galaxy hot choc but cheap coffee? Also there's a fridge but only UHT whole milk. Also please provide a blanket. After getting into bed at night i was freezing and had to use my coat on top of the duvet for warmth.

Xmas weekend in Sheffield

Property had a modern touch with minimal and clean decor. Location was fantastic. When we walked out the front door, the Christmas markets were there. Everything was within walking distance which was great. Staff were really friendly and welcoming! Nothing was too much! Would definitely recommend!

Perfect location shame about a very cold room

Clean and in the city centre

The room was cold. We couldn’t adjust the air con/heating. I had to use my own phone to call reception and apparently the control the system. The lady went to check our room control from wherever they control it and adjusted it. The room warmed up eventually. The heating went off around 2.30 am and did not come back on so woke up to a very cold room too in November.

Location was perfect, especially with the xmas markets outside.

We was 2 hours before check in and told our room was ready but was £25 for early check in so we just left our case and came back and few hours later.

Great central location and easy to find. Not a bad price all in and I would stay again.

We had a lovely welcome and check in was quick. The room was standard and was clean and free of clutter. The breakfast was really nice with plenty of self service options.

Lack of loo roll, luckily there was a chamber maid cart outside the room so I could get more. Lack of biscuits in the room was noticed but reception jelly sweets made up for that ;)

An excellent choice.

Very conveniently placed for Sheffield City Hall. Exceptionally clean. Staff are very helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfast has a very wide choice and is very tasty.

Cleanest hotel!

The hotel was in the perfect location and very modern inside. The reception staff were very welcoming and accommodating as I needed an early check in which thankfully they were able to accommodate. My room was IMMACULATE; whatever products the housekeeping uses smells amazing and the smell lingers. The bathroom was spacious and the shower delightful - no tight cubicle or awkward/complicated shower system; just a simple push and turn that you do BEFORE you step under the stream. The hotel corridors overall were quiet and the bed was heavenly.

The only negatives I have to mention are the TV - which was a bit of nuisance to navigate and had some kind of short timer on it; luckily I had my iPad with me anyway. There was also one bedside lamp that didn’t appear to work that I forgot to mention to the reception staff, but there were countless others that did work.

Conveniently located, average stay.

The bed was very comfortable, spacious walk-in shower. All was very clean.

Thought the price included breakfast so quite surprised at £143 for one night. Breakfast for 2 was charged at £40.00 extra so we ate out. The complimentary tea and coffee only offered coffee for one person and the milk was sour so the drink was spoiled. I was charged twice for a room upgrade and am waiting for a refund. The room windows don't open and the air conditioning was set at 21 degrees and we couldn't reduce it so room was very warm on 4th floor.

Lovely stay in perfect location

Lovely modern rooms, with everything we needed including iron/ironing board, coffee machine and dressing gowns. Great location right in the centre of everything and our room had a nice view of the peace gardens as we selected this room type. Rooftop bar was lovely too and we got a complimentary drink. Staff were friendly and helpful too.

The shower was clogged so couldn’t have a long shower only for a few minutes, but we did report this to reception when we left and they said they would fix it and were grateful for the feedback.

Great location great staff and superb hotel

The reception staff were superb, I had incorrectly booked the following Monday through b.com but they still managed to help me cancel it and rebook the correct night through b.com

My partner got stuck in the lift coming in from the upper entrance to book in and did not have a key to operate the lift. Maybe they should program the lift to operate without a key only from the upper entrance floor only going to the lower reception
