AN ENJOYABLE STAY

Our room was very comfortable with a nice outside sitting area overlooking the sea. We had access to the host's kitchen, which was very well appointed. This allowed us to cook a meal and sit outside eating it, and watching the sun set over the bay. The host was exceptionally kind and helpful. We also had access to the washing machine, which we used. A very enjoyable stay and good value

Although breakfast was not stated as included, Alice our wonderful host still provided cereal and milk and even some vegetables and other condiments for the salad we made for ourselves. She washed up all the dishes we used -- unsurpassed service!

This was by far the best place I stayed in NZL. A beautiful house with veranda, tasteful interior. I specifically enjoyed the dinner with sea view. The owner Alice is full of hospitality, kindness and humor. I would have loved to stay longer to enjoy tranquility.

We had a wonderful stay at Tamaterau Seaview House and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The house is beautifully located right in front of the sea, offering a stunning and peaceful view that immediately makes you feel relaxed. The property is spacious, extremely comfortable, and impeccably clean. Everything is very well maintained, and you can truly feel the care and attention put into every detail. Alice is an incredible host. She is warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome and at home. Her hospitality made our stay even more special. We absolutely loved our time there and would not hesitate to stay again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable place with an amazing sea view in Whangārei. Thank you so much, Alice! We will definitely be back sometime.

Alice gave us a lovely warm welcome to her property. The view from the room over the garden and sea was beautiful, especially in the evening for the sunset. The room was comfortable. Alice was especially brilliant as a host and we enjoyed staying in the house.

Amazing stay with such a lovely host

My stay at Tamaterau Seaview House in Whangārei was absolutely amazing! Alice is such a lovely person, so kind and welcoming! She gave me great tips on things to do during my stay, which made my time there even better. The room was spacious and super tidy, and the view from the house was just breathtaking. Honestly, this was one of the best places I’ve stayed at so far! I can only highly recommend it!

Calm, tranquil, peaceful, great host.

Alice was an exceptional host, not only was I offered a drink on arrival, with a friendly chat, but also some cold watermelon (I travel by motorbike in full kit and was very hot!). I was even given the electric garage door key to use and to secure my motorbike overnight. The room itself was a good size with a small sofa, TV, ample storage and a full-height shower (I'm 6' 5" tall) in the en-suite bathroom. There's a sliding double door from the bedroom out to a small secluded deck area, overlooking the well-kept garden, which in turn leads down to the waterfront. The communal lounge was large and comfortable, as was the kitchen, and the Wi-Fi was great throughout. The worst I can say is that the decor is a little dated, but it all adds to the charm and it's not something that bothers me. Ultimately I wanted somewhere quiet, calm and peaceful and, situated just a little outside of Whangarei town, it was exactly that.

This place is a home away from home and alice is my mom away from home

the place is BEAUTIFUL. it is alice’s own home and she makes it feel like your home too. she welcomed me immediately and made sure i had an unforgettable time. her home is right on the water and each room has so much space to be by yourself or hang out with my new mom.

the only negative is it is quite far from town and hard to get anywhere without a car
