A place to sleep but that was only box it ticked. Old and tired. Has large "Toby Mug" collection

Hostess was very friendly with excellent information and communication. Carport was useful for Drying wet jacket and hiking boots overnight

It feels like this house has become semi permanent accommodation for a group of international workers. KItchen and bathroom were being used liek you might expect if a group flatting / house sharing scenario. Unfortunately it does not have feel of a Motel, Backpackers, BnB or other accommodation used by people on short term stays. I feel sorry for hostess trying to keep kiten & bathroom sreas clean given way prorperty is being used as semi permanent

The house was cute and environment great, everyone friendly including the owners. Everything was very clean.

The room we were in was a little it tight for 3 people. And the kitchen was also quite small. Hard for more than one person to cook at a time.

Ripped off by an owner falsely advertising facilities she knew were not provided.

Room was advertised as having private bathroom, kitchen, flat screen tv. In actuality the room was tiny (two queen-size beds would NOT fit in the room) - and this room was listed as being for 3 guests. On arrival there was no indication of which room was ours, and no-one there could tell us. After two phone calls to the owner we found our room, but now there was no key. We could not lock the room, or unlock the front door to get into the house. Eventually someone (I think another guest), unlocked a keyholder and found our keys. All facilities, apart from the beds, were shared. It was basically a very small room in a house. The wiring looked downright dangerous, with multiple extension cords and multi-adapters providing plugs, with all this draped over a door frame. The bedding was inadequate, and we were cold at night. The heater was noisy, so had a choice of not sleeping due to cold or noise. The owner refused to fix the situation, with our only choice being leave and find somewhere else. The owner states she offered a full refund - untrue. I was offered a different room. With no offer of a refund I had not choice but to stay the full five days, at which point I did not ask again for a refund - I never even saw you. I see you now advertise the ' Basic Triple Room' as having a private kitchen. So you continue your lies - not surprising since Booking.com will do nothing but encourage you by not taking any action.

If you need to sleep, don’t stay here.

Nice little bungalow but it was way over crowded and very noisy all night long.

Other guests had done their laundry, but there’s no dryer so underwear and other clothing was hanging everywhere. The shared refrigerator smelled of rotting garbage. Walls are paper thin so snoring and coughing were constant sleep interruptions throughout the night.

Private and quiet room with everything one could need. Full equipped kitchen available and everything was super clean. The owners were really nice and made the visit a real pleasure. Helped me wherever they could. There was also a cute, cuddly cat around :). Can highly recommend!

We had a pleasant experience and would stay here again if we visit Whanagarei.

We stayed for 2 nights and we had nothing to complain considering the price. The location is great if you have your own vehicle as it is a long walk to get to a commercial place. It is not an ideal location if you just want to walk to the nearest commercial area, it is a far walk to the town centre. The house has lots of rooms, good size living room with a TV providing clear picture signals, good size dining table for six, ample parking area at the back, friendly staff and easy to deal with. The room we used was for three people and I think we had everything we wanted in there. Though we were always eating out, there is a full kitchen where you can cook whatever usual meals you want. The place is usually neat and tidy, kept well by the staff.

The driveway is a bit narrow for my taste but can still easily fit my Toyota Estima. There are two bathrooms, one with a telephone shower in a small space and another bathroom with a rain forest type shower head in a bath tub but tons of space. I would have wanted a bathroom with tons of space and a telephone shower area separate from the bathtub (depends on one's preference). There was no electric outlet for a hair dryer in the bathroom but you can plug in your room.
