Had a tourist cabin and it was everything we needed for a decent sleep; good space, didn’t mind the small wash closet.
Nothing to do with the holiday park, but there were some stink chauvinists at the restaurant down the road on the night we went there. Not locals. The locals were ACE! What spoons. I’m not listening to that. Wish we’d opted to cook a lamb chop in our cabin instead.

Good location close to the bay and shops with petrol, and access to northern regions, including Henderson Bay.
No bedding was supplied, unlike the previous stay in Whatuwhiwhi Holiday Park....just lucky my son's car had some form of bedding. The kitchen was filthy for two days and many gas rings were not working. Had problems with wi-fi everyday and had to talk to the technician to resolve. It worked at night but then lost the next day, getting it at three thirty pm, and as usual they blamed my phone....ironic because the same phone has been to many Asian countries with no problems.

Great location for visiting Cape Reinga and te paki sand dunes. Cabin was basic but comfortable with good beds and storage. The children's play house and animals was fantastic for the kids. We would like to come back and stay for a few days.
Nothing we can think off.

Pukenui Holiday Home – 5 Stars
Stayed: 2nd–5th May | Accommodation: Cottage with Shared Bathroom
We had a fantastic 3-night stay in the Cottage with a shared bathroom. The space was clean, cozy, and well-equipped – we had our own toilet and a small kitchenette with a cooktop, which made it easy to prepare simple meals. Everything worked perfectly.
The shared bathroom facilities were also spotless and had great water pressure. The receptionist was warm, welcoming, and happy to help with anything we needed.
But the real highlight of our stay was Snowy the cat – the sweetest little visitor who came by every night for cuddles. She brought so much joy to our stay and made us feel less homesick for our own pets. We’re still talking about her!
We’d absolutely recommend Pukenui Holiday Home to anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly, and clean place to stay up North.

Location was great, animals were an awesome bonus for the kids. Showers were hot.
Would have been good to have a map of the park inside our room.

The bed in the granny flat was so comfy
Needed to be a bit cleaner, there was a big cockroach in the toaster and there was spiders and webs, and the outside of toilet needs cleaning and shower could do with a good scrub

My kids loved the animals and being able to feed them in the morning was a real novelty. Basic cabins but had everything we needed - heater included which was good as it's cold in August! A good stop on our way back from Cape Reinga. Nice little coffee shop and takeaways a short walk away. Also a bike path around the waterfront to playground. We visited Hendersons Beach, as recommended by our host, which was absolutely spectacular.

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The whole camping holiday park was beautiful and clean.
Having to come home and also finding the camps duvet in our car. Very upsetting as my husband thought it was ours. All sorted, but felt really bad.

good starting point for trips to Cape Reinga, 90 mile beach etc., nice outside cooking area
4 bed cottages were really dark, not cosy, kitchen not well equipped, we've been to a lot better places for the same or even less price per night

Easy access to shops and necessities especially for long weekend (Easter), the animals were the greatest entertainment and the kids LOVED them, friendly staff and a variety of different people also, there's alot of space, even when it's fully booked, you always have a piece of land for your family to enjoy
Communal but that's me being picky, I like my privacy. And the showers were frustrating after a long day but great way to save water! And maybe another BBQ

Nice location, lovely little cabin.
Lots of insects inside the cabin and it was freezing cold at night even with the small electric heater on.
