From the very warm welcome of our hosts, Juanie and Len, to the broad smiles of Willem and his son, the affection of Bobbi the cat, friendly Sam the dog and the braying hello from Durban and Beaufort the donkeys, we just knew it would be a special 2 days! And let's not forget the chickens... If you want to experience the real Karoo deal, with wide open expanses of land and sky, walks for miles, infinite stars that shimmer on the horizon, above and all around, old style farmhouse living and hospitality, then Oupoort will not disappoint. The home is large, spacious, clean and reminiscent of days gone by. You will find everything you need and even discover some things you didn't know you needed! Go ahead, book, stay awhile. You won't be sorry.

That we only stayed for two nights....

If you are looking for off the grid stay this is certainly the place to be. Prepare well and bring all goodies with you as shops are far away about 50km. Donkeys were charming, cat and dog friendly, saw a few buck as well. We unfortunately did not have any snow or stars due cloudy/rainy weather. House is spacious, beds comfortable - bring extra blankets as it gets cold. Enjoyed the stay.
