Excellent place

Lovely place in a great garden setting. Each little bungalow had their own veranda, some with a hammock. It was a great place to sit if an evening and listen to the birds. Room was spotless and had everything you needed.

It says hairdryer on the "included" but we couldn't find one. It wasn't an issue for me but maybe be essential to someone else. The rooms are stated as soundproof, they are definitely not. We had a 5mm in our door even after locking it. If there is a wrestling match going on on the main street it can be very noisy ( with the music and comentator) until 11pm, even in the room. Unfortunately I appreciate this is outside the control of the owners.

Private, comfy spot

A gorgeous little retreat that feels secluded and private, but is a short walk from the beach and good places to eat and drink. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Wattson is a super host who really cares about this place. He helped us with booking a ferry too.

Exceptional

We had a really lovely stay at ToongYoong, thanks to Mr Watson and his kind family (and their fluffy cat). The grounds they’ve created around the bungalows are beautiful, with lots of fruit trees and greenery, which makes it feel very peaceful and welcoming. When we arrived, we were given a choice of two bungalows. Mr Watson was very honest and explained that the one we chose was close to a reggae bar, so we might hear music at night. We did hear music on one evening, but it didn’t bother us at all and we slept through it. Our room was very comfortable, with a large bed, air conditioning, and a great walk-in shower. The bungalows are close to the main road, with plenty of restaurants nearby within an easy walk, or you can quickly grab a tuk tuk or taxi. There’s also a local shop on the corner for snacks, drinks, and other essentials. The beach is just a three-minute walk away and absolutely incredible. Mr Watson was also extremely helpful with arranging trips and transport for us, which made everything very easy and more affordable. We love Koh Lanta, and when we return we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Mr Watson is the man!

A lovely spot that’s probably best for friends or couples.

Spotless room. Beautiful gardens. Friendly staff. Mostly very calm and quiet.

No communal area and no breakfast. Down a quiet alley which was safe, but something I was aware of as a solo female traveller. Could hear locals partying at night during the weekend.

Location of the property was great, close to the beach and main road and the property surroundings was really nice. The owner/manager was really helpful when we needed him.

Not much

Noise from boxing, bars, road etc..etc... Room smelt wierd. Plastic chairs...not at the price this place charges! Just plain wierd cleaning. If you didn't want cleaned you got 2 water that's it. No coffee, no sugar, no nothing. If you wanted cleaned ....they were the slowest cleaners in Thailand and even then did a "meeh" job. Left the room at 0830.....1400 still not done. Max rooms they had to clean while we were there...8 and there were 2 of them. It just is a strange place.

Best place to stay in Koh Lanta!

Quiet, well located, Watson is the nicest guy and really looks after you and makes sure everything is OK. Probably the best host I had on my entire trip. Spacious rooms, great value for money, clean. In my favourite part of Koh Lanta. I would recommend this property to everyone.

Chill place minutes from Long Beach.

Chill, good location 5 min walk to the beach and to restaurants, etc. The owner and his family take good care of the place and take a lot of pride in it. The serene property has mango trees and passionfruit growing throughout. The bungalow we had (they’re semi-detached, meaning two bungalows share a wall had a mini fridge, ac unit, wardrobe with a little hotel safe (not enough for a laptop, but rather passport, etc.). Overall great value and we’d stay here again!

Bugs/flies get inside the second you open the glass sliding door - a mosquito screen would be ideal. Also our bungalow didn’t have the hammock for some reason. Also a table or a bench to put stuff down on under the wall-mounted TV would add a lot of comfort for the guest.

Nothing. I walked in then checked out. Had to eat the entire reservation cost. Did not look like the pictures. It did not feel island like or homey.

Best place on lanta

This family owned property is beautiful, with flowering bushes and trees throughout, as well as many fruit trees. It’s so peaceful, the perfect place to relax. The bungalows are spacious, clean, and all the furnishings seem new. The bed is comfortable and the shower was the best shower i have had so far in Thailand! The family is so kind, they really go above and beyond for their guests. Highly recommend this stay.

Great location for the beach and a few good restaurants, and Wattson was great at recommending and arranging several activities.

The room seemed a little tired. We could have used a bench or table for our bags, and a chair or two for sitting. The bathroom door slid left to right to close, tended to slide open after it was closed, and was noisy.

Fantastic resort, close to many bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. The room is very big and clean, the bed is very comfortable, Wifi connection is very good, and the room has a very nice and clean bathroom. The staff are very communicative and nice, super friendly, and were always attentive and asked if I needed any help with anything. I really felt at home :) I loved this place !!! I will come back for sure when I am back to Koh Lanta.

Better than expected

Well kept place, nice small hotel run by a family. Rooms are good size, several hammocks available for public use plus your personal hammock on every balcony - very sweet. Comfy beds. Close to the sea and some nice cafes/bars/restaurants around. New aircon and fridge. OMG! - silent toilet seat :) Shower is nice, everything you need is there. Thanks!

It is a bit tucked away hotel, so be aware. Wildlife around you - lots of mosquitoes and ants, singing (my god, very loud! but amazing) cicadas, some geckos. No sea breeze, as you are a protected by trees/forest so it can get v hot during a day. Get yourself a mosquito repellent plug-in and you should be fine.

Everything was great. Beds were comfy, the bungalow and especially bathroom was super clean, the location was very close to the beach, and I have to agree with all the other reviews - the owner Wattson is super friendly and helpful. Without being asked, he made sure our bus ride back to Krabi was legit (we didn't book via the accommodation which in hindsight was silly) and talked to the driver when we were picked up to ensure we'd be dropped off at the right place. Great stay!

- everything was clean - the owner was really nice, friendly and chatted with us - he helps booking trips, tours, scooter etc. - we were able to stay a night longer when we requested

- within 3 days the rooms were never made (especially the trash could have been taken out). But I guess if you ask for it, it's done in a sec:)

Wattson and his family are excellent hosts. They take pride in the facilities which are kept very clean with everything in working order. Wattson is very welcoming and provides great food recommendations as well as arrangements for transport. We loved walking to the incredible beach and restaurants within just a few minutes walking distance, sitting on our porch in the mornings and evenings watching the birds, and chatting with Wattson! The rooms and property were so quiet, we got tons of sleep while we were there! I definitely recommend staying here!

Our stay was wonderful. Wattson is a great host, always friendly and very helpful. The bungalows are newly renovated, everything is new and very clean. Room cleaning excellent. The complex is a few meters away from the main road, so you always have peace and quiet, but you can be at the beach and delicious restaurants in 2 minutes. We extended our stay with no problems what was really nice. If you want to stay at Longbeach, go here :)

Amazing

Can’t recommend this lovely place enough. Watson and his family are so kind and caring this was honestly one of our favourite places we have stayed in our 2 months in Thailand. We were in one of the newer rooms but got shown the other options and honestly there isn’t much difference they are both great. It was so clean and we loved the shower in the bathroom such a luxury after some of the showers we have used. The location is perfect, few minutes walk to the beach, fruit stools, a shop and restaurants very close by but also feels very in the middle of nowhere set in a beautiful garden. Lying in the hammock morning, afternoon and night listening to the birds was so relaxing. Watson was also so helpful and helped us book a tour and our onward travel.

We absolutely loved Toongyoong Resort. Fabulous rooms, super clean and spacious, the bed was so so comfortable,we miss it already. Fresh bottled water every day, wonderful hot shower. Everything you needed and more. This was by far the best place we stayed on our 4 months of travelling across Thailand. Watson and his family are wonderful. They really care about their customers. Would highly recommend staying here . We will 100% stay here next time we are in Ko Lanta.
