The Wi-Fi is pretty much non existent. The front desk clerk needs to READ customer requests. Not really a fan of the hotel anymore. Much better in the past. Don’t know why I did a pre check in on line.

The breakfast was okay, nothing special. The staff were fine. Unfortunately, the room had a strong mouldy and dusty smell from check-in until checkout, and it gave me headaches in the morning. No toilet paper and the toilet wasn’t clean enough (the inside, under the cover) It was only a short stay for a quick nap, but I’m not sure I would choose to stay there again.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly front desk person who helped me with checkin. It was quick and easy. I got my key cards and headed upstairs to my room. It took me a while to figure out how to swipe the key card to enter my room, but it turned out that only one of the two key cards I was given worked. No big deal. Once I entered the room, I was happy with the clean room and working AC/heater. What was a pleasant surprise is a brand new smart TV. I for some reason couldn't do airplay, but I brought an HDMI cable. Clean and comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Next morning, I went downstairs for the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast staff were courteous. For the price point, I didn't expect much for the breakfast. The scrambled eggs, yogurt, pastries, and fresh fruits were the highlights. After that, I did an online checkout and left for the airport. Free shuttles between the property and YVR. There is a small gym with the typical machines within the property, which I didn't know about.

Everything was right. Staff very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was fine, staff managing kept clean, very friendly. The only glitch, probably not hotels fault. When I assisted my wife to her flight after the shuttle dropped at YVR, the driver told me he would be at drop off every half hour. I waited 1 1/2 hours and finally took an Uber to the hotel at a $20 cost. Other than that incident, staying at the abercorn was pleasant.

Very friendly and courteous front desk and breakfast staff. We planned to stay here for 12 nights so we inquired for a room lock safe. The local maintenence person went out of his way to find an available room with a safe and esorted us to the room to ensure it was available and functional.

there was a miscommunication between the hotel and the driver—perhaps share shuttle bus driver was still following the pre-October schedule (ending at 11:45 a.m.), while we relied on the updated winter schedule (until 12:00 noon) as stated in confirm email. Unfortunately, this caused us significant inconvenience. I issued the problem but no one reply until now

There's better places out there, though they have good options if you need flexibility like late check-out, last minute cancellation policy, parking, etc. The staff do not communicate to each other, nor did they seem to lookup notes - we had to communicate the same things to 4 different people throughout our stay, which ended up with unnecessary interruptions, frustration, and inconveniences.

Overall pretty clean hotel, with some rather old amenities and fixings. It really was more of a motel than a hotel. The sheets were clean and the bathroom fixtures were recently done. Service was friendly and efficient.

Dated, old, smelly room. Towels smelled bad!! Bath room sink was cracking! Room keys only worked once so every time I left the room and want to go back in I need to go down to reception to get a new key! Breakfast was terrible! All carbs bread, bread and bread. Not even an egg!! Service at breakfast was bad. I was treated by the staff as I didn’t know what I was doing. It is a terrible stay. Glad I only need to stay there for one night if I need to stay in the area for another night I will definitely not going to stay in the same hotel.

Over all the stay was ok for price paid. Beds were comfortable, room was clean looking, and staff were great. Only issue was the room a "sour" smell in the bathroom area that permeated the entire room. You know the smell you get when you wash towels and leave them in the washer while they sit for days before taking them out? That Sour smell? That is what the bathroom smelled like. It was not the towels... i checked that first. The following morning I asked the front desk attendant to ask the housekeeping to clean the bathroom and replace shower curtain, but the same smell was there. Luckily I was only here for 2 nights and I didn't want the hasle of changing rooms. But they really need to take more care when doing cleaning and laundry.
