I paid for two rooms in advance with Hotels.com and the hotel took two additional payments from my credit card instead of taking deposit swipes. They are now refusing to refund the unauthorised payments they have taken. I’d suggest people avoid this place.

Biggest let down the hotel was the restaurant, slow poor service, made to reuse cutlery between courses and breakfast was a joke hardly any food was laid out and the staff were obvious about their guests are hungry! Being served sour beer when they knew the keg was gone!

- 1 - @ 5.30am - We have been waken up by two mens which entered our room. They were as surprised as us to see that they have been given access to the same room. This is not acceptable as we were travelling as a family and booked this hotel to have some proper rest. Also when raising this issue with the reception, they just said that they were going to report but didn't recorded it in front of us. 2/ I also asked for a printed invoice but couldn't get it as their printer was not working.

A nice venue and the room was excellent, however i did have a renovated room, theonly downside is not down to the hotel but the roadworks in the area whihc meant, detours to get to and from it.

We arrived late and there was 24 hour reception which after a long drive was fantastic and we were well looked after. The rooms were lovely, clean and we slept like babies! We were only there en route, but the outside pool looked lovely and there was also a gym. Good security overnight with an electric gate closing so we felt our car was safer.

On arrival we weren't sure if the hotel was actually open, it looked somewhat deserted. It was however open and in the middle of some renovations. We checked in but discovered we had been given the wrong room, so returned to reception, where our room was then changed. Disappointed to find out pool was closed and only found out on asking. Quite a large hotel just off the motorway. We could not use the restaurant due it being Sunday night and staff levels were low, we did eat at the hotel from a small menu and this was fine. Staff are helpful and polite but once at the hotel you are there. Not much around it but fine for one night.

We were a quick overnight stay on a road trip through Europe. The front desk staff were very nice and professional. There was something wrong with the card scanner to make us a key so instead had to go and open the door for us every time. The first room they gave us was in a state of disrepair (the bed literally broke when I sat on it) but the second was nice. The pool was nice, but cold. Overall a nice place for a quick trip.

Pros: Friendly staff, good gym and sauna and good price. Cons: Leaking loo, broken kettle, bed with a couple of broken slats - all fixed promptly. There was no safe, the carpet was old, the fridge was a bit dirty, it was also dirty behind furniture. The pool was cold and a bit dirty. The location was isolated and next to a building site - you need a car. There were no maps, etc. In need of refurbishment!!

We chose this hotel because it was convenient for visiting the battlefields and Tyne Cot. Very good restaurant - decor modern, food good and fairly well priced. We couldn't use the restaurant on our 2nd night as there was a wedding, so facilities were out of bounds! Only place within walking distance was fully booked, so we ended up at the supermarket and having a picnic in our room! Breakfast c/o supermarket! Ate early away from the hotel on our 3rd night and skipped breakfast. The hotel lost income from us. It was too cold to use the outdoor pool (no changing area), and we couldn't find the gym. Decor in bedroom was very tired and in places grubby. No air con, so was extremely hot at night, especially with the non-stop noise from the nearby dual carriageway forcing us to close the window. On the map, the hotel looks further away than it is. I've learned my lesson - check locations on Google Earth before booking! When we left, we were charged for the breakfasts we didn't have; receptionist disgruntled when I insisted on a new bill. Otherwise reception staff helpful.

We have stayed at this hotel before and things have marginally improved from last year. The impression I get of the hotel is that it peaked long ago and is in need of a good refurbishment. Our room was OK but that's about it .The flotex carpet was heavily stained and the furnishings chipped .The walls had some non descript sticky substance on them which to be honest looked as if someone had sneezed on it ( not pleasant).The toilet was depressing to enter ,the seat was stained as was the bowl and it leaked .To make matters worse you had to go to the bathroom next door to wash your hands. The toilet door handle really didn't look as if it had been cleaned for a long while.The room was a good size but wasn't very clean .My wife found hairs in the bed and dirt in locations that hadn't been cleaned properly.The staff are pleasant but there didn't appear to be many of them .One evening we waited in the bar for over 25 minutes before walking out as there was no one to serve us. We never got the correct amount of tea ,coffee or towels for that matter in the room and why they supply plastic cups is beyond me. I was surprised at the price of the drinks .7 euro for 50cl of beer is steep in any book . Over all ,you get what you pay for, so if your expectations are not to high then this is a great stop over for the night but for long term I would look else where.
