Celtic Royal Hotel & Spa

Stayed here for 2 nights with my daughter who was competing in the Urdd Eisteddfod in Anglesey. Conveniently based hotel. Rooms very clean although a little dated. Would have liked a bath rather than just a shower in the bathroom. Shower pressure was quite low but adequate. Lovely breakfast and good service on both days.

Lovely old hotel serving decent snacks ect but the bed was awful. It was too hard on one side and it felt like the springs were shot on the other. The pillows need urgent replacing as they were almost flat. The location was spot on and the breakfast was plentiful.

Excellent location, big rooms, great facilities (take your swimmer stuff), good food, interesting place with history and very friendly staff.

We have just returned from a very disappointing Two night stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel. Initial impression was good. Lovely exterior and the ground floor entrance, bar & dining rooms were equally as impressive. However, once in the lift to the upper floor & our room, it soon becomes apparent that the decor has not extended to upstairs! Dark, shabby hallways, a very dated bedroom with a bathroom that has seen better days. Mouldy shower, stains around the toilet, no toilet roll holder. Empty handwash bottle & not enough towels for the 3 persons staying in the room. The only positive about the room was a very comfy bed & pillows. The breakfast was very poor quality, cold & by far below the standard of what you’d expect from a higher end hotel. Staff looked miserable & not very attentive. However, reception staff were more welcoming. We booked through Expedia and therefore had to pay an additional £20 for parking, so beware as that wasn’t clear on the booking site. Also note that although the receptionist confirmed that we needed to pay an additional £20, on checking my bank statement the following day, £30 had been taken out! We were however given a refund for the addition £10, but no apology offered. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely not!
