Great location, but avoid Fridays/weekends if you want to sleep.

The location is great - a stones throw from the castle and everything else you need in Caernarfon centre. The room was clean, comfortable beds and the shower was very good.

If you’re visiting Caernarfon for partying, you’ll be fine, but the street noise makes it very difficult to sleep. Loud music from the pub across the road didn’t stop until way after midnight. Also, the people in the room next to us were playing loud music and partying until 2:30am. The doors and walls are thin. We soon realised why there were ear plugs outside the rooms. All this said, it was a Friday night, so it likely that weekdays are much quieter. Also, there wasn’t a TV in the room, which was a surprise. While there seemed be a rail for hanging clothes or coats, it was directly over the tea and coffee-making area with nowhere near enough space to hang anything.

The rooms are comfortable and the location is great.

This isn't the owner's fault, but I was awoken at 6am on both mornings by a neighbour drilling, bin men and vans unloading deliveries to businesses on the street.

We loved it! My husband said it was his favorite stay out of three countries and several units.

Sustainable practices, cooperatively owned, good follow up with us on check in, spotlessly clean, decor was nicely done, location was stellar! There are a lot of stairs, so specify a lower floor if you need that.

Bed a tiny bit too firm for me and pillows a bit too flat, but that is just a preference.

Really disappointing

The photos of the property didn’t reflect what was there. They were misleading. There wasn’t even a wardrobe or anywhere to put anything. But the worst part about it was the noise, the pub next door playing really loud music until midnight, and no way of blocking out the sound! We considered leaving during the night it was so bad. For a family room, the windows either need glazing or need to be located in a place within the ‘hotel’ that’s not directly facing the pub.

Leaking tap in the bath tub. Toilet cover / rim was loose and was unstable. Would have been nice to have a cloth hanging cupboard in the room. No place to hang clothes.

Situated in the centre of Caernarfon so absolutely perfect - spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable and a lovely room. A member of staff met us promptly to give us our key and show us to the room etc would highly recommend

Good value for money

Warm welcome and tour of the building by the proprietor. Easy instructions how to contact them, worked smoothly.

Building has a nest of seagulls on the roof who make a lot of noise, so drifting into sleep was a bit of a challenge.

Lovely find

The fact that this hotel is community owned gives it so much character! You can see it in the decoration choices, or the mismatched cutlery in the shared kitchen. The hotel itself is placed in what I would say is the busiest, most interesting street, right by the castle. We talked to a couple of volunteers when checking in and they were extremely helpful at recommending places to eat and visit. No one knows more than the locals! It's a great opportunity to support the local community and not some random hotel chain.

Not their fault (especially since they are protected), but the seagulls are quite noisy since early in the morning. The hotel provides ear plugs though :) The beds in the twin room were quite narrow, but that's just single beds for you.

Lots of potential but very poor sleep due to noise and light

I greatly admire the passion and idea behind the Llety Arral but small, fixable things made it the worst nights sleep I’ve had in a hotel and so I cannot recommend it to anybody. The windows are very old single glaze and on a Saturday night there was extremely loud music and partying right outside until 1am in the morning, I was offered a room change close to midnight to a first floor room but did not have confidence this would fix the issue and also did not want to move so late at night. In addition, right above the bed there is a very bright large green light which is part of the emergency light system. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this in a hotel and it really kept me awake long after the loud music stopped. Two very simple fixes would have made this a pleasant stay in a nice room with an ideal location and friendly and warm staff, but unfortunately since I didn’t sleep due to those two issues I can’t give it a higher rating.

A lovely place to stay with a warm welcome

Lovely person who greeted us. A beautiful room which we were moved to when she saw my mother couldn’t easily walk up a further flight of steps, so they were very flexible and accommodating. A nice view of one of the nicest streets in Caernarfon. Close to nice cafes, pubs and restaurants. The room and bathroom were nice and modern. It seems I didn’t know that they had a room (for those with mobility issues) on the ground floor, but it was apparently taken. Finally, the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

It’s a shame they don’t offer some form of breakfast, even cereals, but the kitchen is good and useful, and has a large fridge. I’m not sure why they don’t offer toiletries; it shouldn’t have been offered in Bookings.com. The single beds are a little small.
