Excellent room. Room 30 is a 4 poster and huge. Truly romantic. Its a well equipped room with iron and board, hairdryer. An open style shelving wardrobe for folding and hanging your clothes.
The bathroom is spacious with bath/shower. The shower is a fab easy to use item. Plenty of storage. Hot water is almost instant. Light up wall mounted cabinet for the ladies and a separate magnifying mirror finish off the close ups.
If you're there during wintery months, the heating is top notch. It was very cold when we were there and the heating (3 radiators, 1 bathroom, 2 bedroom) worked a treat and could melt the make-up off Dame Edna at 30 paces. So enjoy cozy times.
There is a room attendant that comes to change the bins in the room and top up on condiments for the tea making facilities and bathroom products.
The whole facility is great and owned by the pub. Great food and great atmosphere. If you want a hearty breakfast I recommend eating in. Lots to choose from and plenty for starters before the main breakfast turns up.
Easy check in and easy out.
Nothing to not like.
But be mindful there is a gentle hum from the extractor fans nearby. But not loud. This may bother those of you with hearing like an owl.
Room 30 is up a short flight of stairs outside in the courtyard. So be wary if your Long John Silver.

Wonderful location inside the town walls. The inn is full of atmosphere and comfort. Stayed in the annex building with a room which opened up on both sides of the street with windows. A big kitchen for preparing breakfast and a huge bathroom with modern fixtures. Staff were very friendly and helpful and indicated the best approach to parking as the streets of Caenarvon are for residents only and not easy in which to find space. Spending an evening in the friendly bar with a roaring fire was a great way to end the day and warm up from a January day.
The bar meal chili was very mild and was probably more of a three-bean casserole than a chili.

Location. WiFi. Clean. Quiet(ISH)
Horrendous pillows. Like slabs. Place is now charging for car park (£15, used to be free) and breakfast. Food in restaurant was disappointing. A lager almost £7, totally ridiculous. No chair in room so sat on bed. No soap in bathroom.

We had dinner and breakfast, both were excellent. Staff were extremely helpful and lovely to deal with. Room was spacious and our bed was extremely comfortable. Location is great, situated in a beautiful historical town, only 45 minute drive from the ferry at Holyhead.

Location great, excellent value for money. Lovely setting and very comfortable bed.
Receptionist not particularly friendly, room was boiling hot! And noise was expected (as above inn) but disturbing as started belting out music at 7.15am!

Had a suite which has a kitchen and fridge, bathroom was very nice.

Great location large room with kitchen
Some noise from the other pubs on the street.
Very hard pillows. Car park fees at £15 are far to high.

Busy and looked a well kept pub.
It was very noisy which is fine but that’s not what it says in the accommodation brief.

Lovely staff, and a fabulous location. Spacious, comfortable room, very clean and lovely bed.
Unfortunately we didn't get to eat there, as it was just too busy, and nowhere to sit and wait. Good for the business, but we will return when its quiter and try the food. This is the only negative we found.

The room was huge and the kitchen was a positive added bonus. Staff excellent too
We weren't in the Black boy, but the town houses round the corner. Unfortunately, its opposite a very noisy pub and the historic building doesnt have the best sound proofing

Staff in all areas of the pub were extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Checking in was very quick and helpful re the free parking options. Food was excellent, great choice, good prices. Good breakfast choice. Room was lovely Room 35. A bit noisy at times with the road but earplugs a great thought.
Need to get windows to fit frames better Room 35 quite a gap from one end to the other but apart from that excellent.

Excellent location for exploring Caernarfon. Staff were polite and efficient and they upgraded our room which was huge. Food was also excellent.
When we booked it mentioned that there was parking available. However it turned out that parking was £15 per night! This is excessive. Kindly the receptionist suggested a free on street parking spot overnight. This matter needs to be clarified on booking sites.

The receptionist ladies were awesome and very accommodating, and friendly.
The manager of the bar, dining room was incredibly rude. One of our meals was very poor. The waitress asked us about our food and we replied honestly... Thepie was amazing, the curry- NOT good! She called over this guy who I assume was the shift manager who became very defensive. Then the following day, he was rude again!! Gave me a filthy look when I walked into the bar and then was terse when I asked about the specials that night. We ate elsewhere because of him. I’m not sure why someone like that is working in the hospitality business , but he was so unprofessional.

Pleasant staff and comfortable stay. Great location.
Less stairs would have been preferable (room 61), after a hectic but highly pleasurable day

Helpful, cheerful staff.
Well appointed, clean and comfortable room up in the roof.
Ordering food and drink by QR code was difficult for some visitors.
Food was OK, but I have eaten better pub food.

Accommodation right in the centre of Caernarfon, perfect location for shops, pubs, restaurants, the castle and marina.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was very clean and well furnished.
There was nothing we didn't like.

We did not have breakfast. But, we had 2 meals in the restuarant-both excellent. Atmosphere was great, and staff were friendly and efficient.
The only problem was the wi-fi we could not access, as we are not on X Facebook or apple. The part to enter email did not work.

Good sized comfortable room with a generous ensuite, including a spacious shower.
The room was in a separate building up the road, and unfortunately, our room was on the top floor, which involved navigating several corridors and 4 flights of steps. Also, the sound insulation between the rooms was not great, and we were kept awake by a combination of loud conversation and their bathroom extractor fan.

A historic old inn with lots of character. The room and bathroom were large, modern very clean, and comfortable. We were staying in the Town House just round the corner - very convenient location within the town walls, close to the castle, town square and cafes. There is limited parking nearby but the hotel has an arrangement so that you can park free of charge in a large car park a couple of minutes walk away. We really appreciated this. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was mediocre and expensive. Standard options on the menu but the quality was not great. There are cafes nearby offering much tastier breakfasts. The pub gets very busy and booking options for an evening meal are limited.

Exceptionally clean.
The room was very hot. Windows open meant being disturbed early, including by their grass being mowed across the road at 7.30 and radio on loud downstairs before 7. Staff didn't seem particularly helpful regarding drinks and dietary needs. Very limited gluten free options at both dinner and breakfast, so we are elsewhere.

We stayed there for five nights. Very large room with a small kitchen, attentive room service. We ate at the restaurant three times, very tasty, very attentive service.
