I was very impressed with the customer service we received. We arrived early from our two week cruise and they were very helpful and accommodating. They arranged a shuttle to pick us up and let us check our bags in early when we got there well before check in. David was extremely polite and helpful showing us the easiest way to ride the train to the Colosseum and Vatican Museum. We wouldn’t have made it without him. When we returned late at night we realized the electric plugs were different in the hotel. We went down to the desk and Balerio gave us an adapter to use to charge our phones. Not sure what we would have done without that. The breakfast was delicious with many different choices. They also arranged a shuttle to take us back to the airport. If we ever return to Italy we will definitely be staying at Hotel la Scaletta.

This hotel was a fabulous location for our last night. Our room had a small terrace with a beautiful view of the ocean. Lots of options for great food nearby. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and arranged a shuttle to the airport. We would definitely stay at LA Scaletta again and highly recommend to anyone going to rome.

On my trip through Europe, this was definitely the best hotel. The only “complaint” is about breakfast: by 9:30 a.m. there were already very limited options, and the staff were not willing to restock. On my last day, I went down earlier and had the same issue—the person responsible was not replenishing items as they ran out, which resulted in very little variety of what was left.
That said, the room is good and clean. They could provide more bottles of water in the room and offer more pillow options.
If you stay at this hotel, the best way to get around is by metro. There is a station about a 10-minute walk away that connects to the whole city (Ostia Centro). If you’re coming from the airport, take the Cotral bus at the airport (€1.10), which drops you very close to the hotel (Terminal 3).

great location, clean, reasonably priced airport shuttle, and the staff were super nice. It was a great place to spend my last day in Italy.
