Great location

Great location, across the street from the beach and just around the corner from a pedestrian area full of little restaurants, bakeries, and shopping. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our room was for 3 people, and each bed had a night stand and storage space. The bathroom was a typical Italian hotel bathroom in size, complete with shower products. We were very pleased with our room, which had a small balcony with an ocean view. A wonderful breakfast was provided. All the hotel staff were friendly and communicated with us in English as needed to answer questions and provide recommendations. Since we were there in November, street parking nearby was available. Close to the airport, too.

Right next door to McDonald's, which was open late and people there were noisy.

Okay but would not recommend.

Location

Bed frame stuck out into room and this was hidden by the bed coverings. Corner of fame cut my leg open quite badly. I didn’t report it as I wasn’t going to get medical treatment as I didn’t have time as I was meeting an incoming flight. I treated it myself as I carry a first aid kit.

The staff opened breakfast 10 minutes early just to accommodate our needs.

Fantastic hotel, directly across from the sea, nice wide open views, friendly helpful staff, at the central pier, walk to many restaurants, comfy clean room, wonderful balcony. Thank you! We’ll be back!

There was so much mold behind the door inside of the shower. The bed was not comfortable and only a single thin sheet was provided with a flat pillow.

Wonderful experience

Wonderful location with a great view. The late afternoon manager on August 23 was very helpful to us in arranging a shuttle the next day and also telling us about the area.

This hotel was in a great position, right on the beach. We just had a 1 night stay before our long-haul flight home. Had dinner in a lovely restaurant across the road from the hotel. It was delicious.

The stay was just for one night but pretty much met our expectations and level of comfort.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great, so close to the beach, lots to shops and many restaurants to choose from, wish our stay was longer than one night.

I got two packets of body soap. Maybe one should be shampoo.

Great Staff and Location, OK Room

The location is right on the beach and there are many restaurants within walking distance. We saw very few other tourists, which surprised us. There was a balcony attached to our room which had a nice table with chairs and a view over the water. So nice! The breakfast was also good.

The bathroom was extremely small and it was hard to shower and navigate getting ready. Also, the power went out at about 11 PM until around 5 AM which made the room extremely hot and sleeping difficult. I'm sure that this wasn't the fault of the hotel, but made the stay challenging.

Beds are rock solid. Internally very noisy of other guests closing doors (they slam shut). Hotel sits on a McDonalds with many teenagers loitering outside/making noise. Also many cars drive past with music which is very loud. Perhaps my bad choice of room. Next time would like to be away from the road even if it’s means having no view

Wonderful staff, great location.

Breakfast was very varied, with fresh coffee, pastries and fruit! Staff was kind, amazing and attentive, they gave us tips on how to use the beach service and how to get to airport the cheapest way. It's also just across from the beach and a few steps from really good restaurants!

It's on a main road, so obviously it'll be a bit noisy. It did not bother us, as we knew this coming in, but worth noting for others.

Good hotel with a beautiful view!

Hotel had beautiful view of ocean, the staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food and drinks. Room was clean.

I don't want to nitpick, but the bathroom was very small and there was nowhere to set anything down in bathroom. Also, 2 pillows each would have been nice. Overall, we were happy!

beautiful view over the sea and welcoming staff

We had another wonderful stay at La Scaletta Hotel! The breakfast was absolutely perfect, with a lovely selection of both savoury and sweet options to suit every taste. A special mention goes to Lucia, who was so warm and welcoming—she truly made our mornings feel extra special. The coffee, cappuccino, and even a babycino for my son were just perfect. Our room was a good size, very comfortable, and came with a balcony offering a beautiful view over the sea. It was such a treat to wake up to that every morning. The room also had a hair dryer, which was very convenient. We would definitely return—such a charming place with kind staff. Highly recommend!

Perhaps If I had to mention anything, it would be that a softer or lower pillow might have made the sleep even more comfortable, and having a kettle in the room would’ve been a nice extra touch. Overall, though, it was a lovely experience and we’d definitely return.

By far the best staff in the hotel according to my experiences (very kind and helpful guys). Simple but good quality breakfast. Top location: you step out of the door and there is the beach in front of you, in Ostia I can not imagine better (everything is in 5 min walk).

Near the airport

We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and we had an early flight. We stayed 2 nights since we wanted to see the area. The hotel is very basic, no frills, and the room was small - but that is to be expected for the price. It’s located across the street from the beach and right above McDonald’s. We were there in December so the area wasn’t busy but I could see how this might be an issue during the tourist season. The breakfast was very good and the young woman who worked in the breakfast room was very nice, friendly and helpful. There were a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The staff was helpful. They emailed detailed instructions on how to get there from Rome and also arranged for a shuttle to the airport (which was an additional fee). The hotel was a really good value.

The bedspread needs updating and the bathroom is extremely small. It is a little weird that they hand out the remote controls wrapped in plastic at check in.
