Room was very outdated. Paint was chipping off over walls and ceiling and bathroom doors. Shower tub is cracked. All three tvs didn’t work either. Room smelled like old dog wet dog and cigarette smoke.

The staff at this location is very friendly & accommodating; however, the suites are in need of maintenance as well as a more thorough cleaning. When arriving at our suite we found random bits of cereal under the couch and under the ottomans in the common area. We also found change and a random assortment of towels in the living room tv stand drawers. The plates in the kitchen cabinet had bits of food and when we opened the dishwasher we found the previous guests’ dishes inside. Front desk offered to move us to another suite, but we were only staying for 1 night and declined her offer. She also offered a 15% discount on our stay, but as we booked through hotels.com we needed to go through them to apply the discount. Apparently when hotels.com approached the hotel they refused. The paint on the walls was chipping, and the soap/lotion dispenser in one of the rooms had fallen (or was ripped). The stand was sitting on the bathroom counter and no effort was done to either re-install the stand or repair the wall. The tv remote in the common area needed the batteries replaced and the ottoman in the common area had some pretty visible stains. I can only imagine how rushed their cleaning and building repair staff must be to have overlooked so many issues in one suite and deem it appropriately clean to assign to a guest. I cannot emphasize enough how friendly and helpful their staff was, but it was clear they were RUSHING to get their job done.

Honestly, the biggest issue with this property is that it is old and just not maintained very well. Mold (possibly black mold) on the bathroom ceiling. Peeling paint. Carpet worn & snagged. As much as we’ve enjoyed staying here, it is in desperate need of updating!! Additionally, the breakfast wasn’t as nice as last time we were there…the exact same thing was served every morning we were there. The oatmeal had several inches of water on top and even after stirring looked uncooked and unappealing. The worse part was that our door didn’t close & lock when we left. We had to lift up on the door to get it to latch, which was not only inconvenient , but also a security issue. The staff was VERY nice and helpful, which is always a plus :)

I booked the hotel through Travelocity and paid in advance-in full. My family and I were waiting for our townhome to be ready on the 8th. We checked into the hotel and immediately noticed that it did not look like the pics. It is outdated, smelly and dirty. The first room was not feasible because the patrons in the room next to ours had a dog that constantly barked. Thus, our room was changed. When we settled into the second room, my husband was taking a shower (the bathroom was dirty and the paint was peeling in the shower) when I noticed something flying around. There were bees everywhere! Yes, bees!! I took a quick video and went to the front desk to report it to the receptionist (who was extremely nonchalant). She began the process of putting us into another room and I asked to see it first. Upon entering the room, I could smell mold and mildew. However, at this point (10:45 pm), my family and I just wanted to get some sleep. My husband had to wake up at 2:30 am for work. We packed up to move into the third room when the reception met us at the elevator stating that the room was “out of service” and no other rooms were available. She told us that they were affiliated with the hotel (Courtyard) next door and we could start a reservation over there by paying upfront. Travelocity approved our refund which would take 7-10 days! We were basically homeless. The hotel refused to comp us that night at the Courtyard so we could sleep and figure the rest out in the am.

The bathrooms are very run down with peeling paint and drywall. The furniture was so stained we had to cover it with towels and blankets. The living room furniture was sagging and uncomfortable. The hotel needs a serious update.

We stayed Thursday thru Wed. Our stay started off rocky but the hotel fixed it by getting us another room on Sunday. The night clerk could use more customer srvice training on how to handle room problems at check in. As mentioned she eventually got it, but it took some back and forth and involving 3rd party booking site. The hotel rooms are a good size, but worn down and needs alot of small repairs like door handles, knobs, cabinet doors, carpet could be replaced in some areas. There were no bugs...besides big spiders outside. The hotel breakfast and Ban (attendant)was awesome. Ban cuts fresh strawberries every morning. Front desk Stephan very helpful with things around town/detroit and Ad (Housekeeper from romania) so caring/talkative. All the guest were friendly and talkative.The location is not in detroit, but the drive in and out was fine. The location is near alot of restaurants and stores, which is very helpful with picky eaters. The outdoor pool was a great size at 5ft deep. Nice outdoor seating. The parking was not that great. The back/side parking lots are very very dark. Parking fills up very fast at night. Overall clean, safe and close location for your getaway. I would stay again. If your a colder temp person shairing room with others bring a extra blanket/heavier pj's b/c the temp is hard to fit everybodys needs.

The hotel was a little bit outdated in the rooms and the shower bars seem like they were gonna fall off. Love the two bedroom suite that I had. Breakfast was pretty decent no powdered eggs. Nothing spectacular but definitely good. Staff was excellent. The air unit was loud and the people above us were extremely noisy. Really like that the laundry facilities are free to guests. Would definitely stay here again.
