Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Utica

The check-in was from a script, rambled like she didn't want to be there. I was told there would be house keeping service during my stay but I could request towels and linens if needed. The elevator was broken. House keeping did show up which I was not expecting and then waited for them to finish whole I walked around the neighborhood. The power went out on all the outlets the last night and my phone wasn't charging. So glad my alarm still went off to get up in time for my flight. The area is nice but you have wouldn't think of it based on the hotel.

Elevator didn’t work. 3 floors of luggage hauling was a pain. M53 truck noise was unbearable on 3rd floor. Trucks with crazy loud brakes all night.

Really nice place. 2 minor issues....water pressure in shower was low and bolt on toliet seat broke. Otherwise very clean. Great price. Nice location. Will stay again when in the area visiting daughter.

staff was amazing. Bistro restaurant had really great food!! Beds were comfortable and was very nice safe and quiet.

Newer hotel convent location. 4 am fire alarm for no apparent reason wasn't helpful but I can't blame the hotel for that. Very clean but you need to request room service.

Location and price were best parts but condition an attention to detail were not up to expectations for someting in the Marriott brand.

Kids running up and down hall no security guard or personnel; front desk check in was rude; check out at 3 am clerk could not explain why there were charges on the bill

The manager knew there were loud large parties smoking marijuana and playing music so loudly they went up to the rooms multiple times to quiet down , and they should of asked them to leave after 2:00am and the behavior did not stop. Then our toliet stopped working so we were forced to change rooms at 4:30am in the morning and the person on duty gave us their manager key that opens all rooms on that floor , it is such a security safety issue. Overall awful experience. It’s sad that management decided to do nothing to be helpful and in fact made our stay worse then it needed to be

The staff was not friendly or very knowledgeable. The rooms were tiny and no drawers to put your clothing in. I will be looking for different accommodations next time.

The only thing going for this hotel was the pleasant nature of all of the employees! When we initially checked in, the staff member was having problems getting the computer system to work. Upon check into our room, there were stains all over the bathroom floor. I’m not sure if it was lack of cleaning or if they were permanent stains on the floor? Additionally, our room door would not latch closed. When we notified the front desk of this, they said there were no maintenance personnel on site for the evening. They promptly moved us to a new room. This room was adequate. part of the reason for our stay was to allow our kids to play in the pool. We only live 10 minutes from the hotel. The heater in the pool was also broken, so the pool was ice cold. My kids could not enjoy the pool because of this. lastly, there had been a large amount of snow in our area over the weekend. The parking lot was not at all plowed, nor was the walkway shoveled. This was pretty surprising as I assume this is a safety risk for customers entering and exiting the building. The dining amenities on the TV were also not up-to-date, a couple of the restaurants in the area that were listed had actually closed a while ago. Upon check out, we were not even asked how our stay was. Long story short, we do not plan to go back.

We were playing nearby for a tournament, was looking forward to feeding kids before we left. Was told breakfast would be ready at 6:30 when we checked in the night before. We went downstairs at 7:15 and the breakfast was not set up. This was on a Saturday morning.

Was shopping in the area weather got really bad. Decided to stay somewhere close than taking a two hour drive through black ice. This was a good choice. Spacious quiet and clean.

Hello I booked my stay over 4 months ago. It was for a wedding. I booked a double queen for two nights. There were 2 adults and 2 children. The adults were not a couple. When we arrived, we were shown to a King bed room. I just thought it was a mistake, after all I booked it so long ago. I went downstairs and the person on duty said that the room I was in was the room I was assigned. Evidently between the time I booked my room and my stay, a girls hockey tournament was planned. I was told that the hotel was overbooked and I had to no choice but to accept it. I was informed I could speak to a manger the next day. So the next day I cleared some time to go an speak to a manager and was told it was because I used a 3rd party to book by stay. WHAT???? I received no heads up prior and no notification that I was not going to receive what I booked, and there was nothing on any of the documentation I had prior that my choices could not be honored. Your GM's solution, credit $25.00 to my room. WHAT???? for having to share a bed with another adult and a toddler? On top of all this, there was only one (1) luggage cart for the whole hotel and the pool was so cold that even the kids would not get into it. I was given a room on the third floor and then the elevator broke. The hotel did not even communicate any information regarding the one and only elevator nor that one of the two staircases was blocked and could not be used. (fire hazard? ya think). I don't know if all your rooms are bat

Fred front desk was excellent. Room 333 , toilet not working but we were given access to room 334. Awesome

Pleasant check in with staff. Courteous and remembered me from previous visits. Assisted me with luggage in the building and to the room. Quiet, clean, excellent bed comfort, room temperature perfect.

We went to the room and it had a strong smell of chemicals mixed with cat urine. After going to the help desk they transferred us to another room. That room was the same. After about 10 minutes our chests were burning. We ended up leaving and going to another hotel. The overall condition of the hotel was a step up from a motel 6 so not great. I would never recommend anyone staying here

Hotel served the purpose to sleep and close to everything else but that’s it. Pool was out of service, floors had crumbs everywhere, bedding for the pullout couch smelled so had to get new, toilet ran all night, guy who checked in basically was like a robot checking us in telling me what he couldn’t do. I would never stay here again.

Situated in quiet residential neighbourhood. Great staff , would definitely come back !
