Batur Volcano Guest House & Villa

This is a family run business and it was the father and the daughter who made our stay as special as it was. They was very kind and helpful. We booked our guided tour for mount batur hike with them very easily. Our tour guide Freddie was amazing, he understood this was my first ever hike and I needed breaks- we made it to the summit for sunrise with his help. He was very encouraging and pleasant conversations. Location was excellent. We stayed in one of the new rooms which was beautifully newly renovated

The shower didn’t work properly however we didn’t mind because we had our own private natural hot spring pool. I’m sure if we informed them they would have resolved this however we didn’t feel the need to as it was a short stay

The room was modern and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Close proximity to Batur Volcano as well as walking distance to the village and hot springs! The team arranged a jeep sunrise tour, which was spectacular! Rocky our driver was also a great photographer and DJ.

The food was OK. Unfortuantely the area is inundated with flies but this is not the fault of the hotel. Perhaps they could have some fly spray available for the rooms?

The pool in front of the mountain was amazing! I also love you can walk 10 mins and get to a Hot Spring! Super easy to also book the Jeep tour with them for the sunrise :) Breakfast was basic but good. Love this place and will come recommend them!

Nice new villa just under the volcano - great basecamp for early morning summit. There is a nice hot spring place just 10 minutes down in the village called BNHS. The private hot spring in the villa was great for warming up during the cold weather. The staff was very friendly. The property offers hiking packages to Mount Batur - short, medium and long - short one was 300k per person, middle one was 400k per person, and I do not remember the long one.

While it is technically a private villa with a private hot spring, you are facing a car park and reception, which are slightly raised compared to your villa, meaning no privacy since you can just stand at the reception and stare inside. The eating place was filled with dead insects. While I do not hold this against the property since it is not their fault, there is a huge problem with flies in the area during the days during the rainy season. This means you can't eat outside or just sit in a hot spring because there will be literally 30 flies flying around you. Also, the advertised hot spring is technically there and great by itself, but you need to always ask the staff to empty it and fill it again with hot water - you are not allowed to do it by yourself. During the cold weather, when the water is ready, you have maybe 30 minutes to enjoy it before it gets cold and needs to be replaced, thus a need to call the staff again.
