Batur Pyramid Guesthouse

Perfect location situated just around 7 minutes' walk to the base of the hike to Mt. Batur. I paid a little extra for the top room for the marvellous views of the mountain and Lake Batur. It is wonderfully kept amongst pleasant surroundings including two hot spring pools, so you won't have to pay to visit the larger one in town. Perfect after the morning hike. Comfy beds, great shower. Kettle included with some coffee and tea. Staff can organise the trekking guide and onwards transportation. It's about a 5 minute walk into town where there are restaurants and convenience stores. A truly wonderful and intimate stay. Quiet location.

Location is perfect for trekking to Mt Batur, and the guesthouse has a good view of the lake. It's also not too far from the centre of the village. The hot pools were great for easing aching muscles after our hike!

A minor issue was that the shower bracket was loose so I had to keep it at medium power to stop the shower head from spinning around when at full power.

The location far from the main street. Although it's not a big homestay, the staff was helpful, available and quick to respond. The highlight was the outdoors natural hot pools right in front of the rooms with a view on Abang and Batur mounts. This was there that we spent relaxing moments after hiking during the day. We had dinner several times at the guesthouse and the cook it's fantastic. We had our best fish Mujair nyat nyat there. Rooms are clean with all amenities and mostly can be completely shut from flies coming in. Bathroom could be fancier but it's functional. All rooms garden and lake view seemed equals to us. We actually preferred ground floor bedrooms that are cooler in summer.

The staff could provide more options to tour around the lake by ourselves, everything seemed to revolve on high touristic prices for the entrance fees and guided tours which gives the impression that we end up always paying additional fees. The breakfast could have more options like continental breakfast with jam on toasts and more fruit juices. Last thing is rooms are located just next to the neighbours' roosters site therefore every morning they scream at 5am in unison. Take a night mask and earplugs. Like everywhere in Batur there are swarms of flies during day time. Don't let your doors open too long.

The Kintamani area was swarmed by flies that completely made you feel uncomfortable & gping nut to get rid of them. They came into the room even the main door is closed. To make it worse they're buzzing right in front of you. It's a pity the local council let the organic compose industry near the panoramic area.
