Panoramic views and heated pool

Heated pool after the Mt Batur trek was a blessing. Room was alright as far as value for money goes. 20ltr mineral water jar is given by them during check-in is in some way fascinating. Breakfast was standard. Food menu serving at the property’s little restaurant is limited but enjoyable if you’re into Indonesian local food. Nasi goreng was a proper dinner with a Bintang.

Room-bathroom need upgradation and proper ceiling fan in the afternoon can make much difference instead of a weak wall fan.

The view on the lake from the room is stunning ! It's lovely - Having the hot spring any time of the day & night is a must too ! The noodles soup were so good, really good breakfast too.

The bed are super hard & pillow too high You can have the mosque singing in the village bellow

I loved my stay at Black Lava, I recommend it 100%, EVERYTHING was perfect! The service, the attention they gave me, they prepared breakfast to take me when I had to leave early in the morning, they organised the driver, they gave me milk to leave it in the room. The sheets smelled super good the litter and the pillows super comfortable and I also loved that there was tea and coffee for you to make whenever you wanted and also a bottle of water per room and in every corner of the hostel. The food is very good and cheap and the thermal water pool and the views a spectacle. I also organised the trekking with them and it was great, with breakfast at the top and the super attentive guide. It was also a 15-minute walk from restaurants and massage sites and ATMs.

Very nice place the hot springs are amazing with beautiful views of mount batur the dorm is basic with only mattress on floor but hot springs n dorm make up for it the staff was not very friendly never smile an very miserable

Too many flys Staff not very friendly Very hard to get good night sleep at people waking up at 3 am for mount batur hike If you try to hike without a guide they will vandalise your scooter many people geting there tyres stabbed so I’d best to get a guide but it is pricey and cheaper to do it from ibud the tour guides for the hike was very nice people but staff at the hostels wasn’t as friendly

Stunning views and hot pools

The view from anywhere in this place is exceptional. There are two hot mineral pools to soak your cares and aches away. If you arrive before check in, you can spend your time in the pools, taking in the view. The whole place has a great vibe and has a range of accommodation styles to choose from. I stayed in the Wooden House, but those staying in the 6 bed dormitory were happy with their stay as well. My room had a tv, kettle, fan, shampoo and body wash, a water dispenser and hairdryer. The entire place is neat, tidy and beautifully built with a Balinese feel to it. Be aware that there a steps to get to the different areas, but I was given help with my bags. The hostel organised the sunrise trek and my transport to leave. The meals are simple and low cost. I thoroughly recommend that you have at least one night here if you come for the trek, or just come for the pools and the view.

Good stay for hiking Mount Batur

Staff was very nice. Liked the hotspring a lot. The mattress was cozy. The food was nice and good prices. The organised hike with the guide was perfect. I would go back.

The dorm was quite stinking of sweat the first night, the second night was good (it is not the hostels fault, but maybe it would worth installing something to exchange the air in the room without letting in the flies) There was only one shower and one toilet. The flies but this is everywhere in Kintamani.

Beautiful, natural , rejuvenating stay

Beautiful place in the middle of the nature, where you are surrounded by mountains , ocean, greenery all around. Our room was nice with a natural hot water spring plunge pool. Absolutely calm place for rejuvenation.

Great place to stay and explore Kintamani - Mt. Batur

If you are at Kintamani and if you need a quiet place with a stunning view of the lake / mountain along with hot water pool, this is the place. The place is basic / backpacker type but perfect for trekking around the area and explore the place. They can arrange the bike rentals, taxi back to other places, trekking to Mt. Batur and other activities on a nominal price.

The restaurant food is basic. You can go to town / explore near by restaurants for good food.

Very nice view Batur lake and mountain, the have hotspring pool, peacefull feeling , id you looking for quiet ambient with beautiful view the black lava hostel is the one

the smell of rat droppings in the glamping room, the smell of urine in the glamping bathroom, the water is so hot in Joglo 1 and 2 that it scalds, the price of the extra bed is not worth it at a rate of 175 thousand mattresses, not for elderly people

Bathroom shower was leaking. But that’s a minor problem. It also get to be noisy because of the motocrosses hiking in the mountains in the middle of the night.

Good choice

Very comfortable bed, clean room with beautiful view to the Batur lake, good food. The two hot water pools were the best! We stayed 3 days and the pools were cleaned every day (they change the water daily). The hiking path to Batur is near by, easy to go for a hike. The place was much better thank we expected. We'll go there again!

Perfect stay for hiking Mt Butar! Beautiful views from the public deck restaurant. Beautiful pools though we didn't get to use them. Breakfast food was good and simple.

Very rocky road to get to the hostel. I also didn't care for the very dim lights in the room, made it hard to see. Very few electric plugs.

Amazing choice if you're seeking a quiet and accomodative stay.

Everything about this place. I stayed here for a short retreat for about 3 nights. I didn't need to go out of this hostel except for when I climbed Mount Batur (which they helped to arrange for me as well) because this place has everything; comfortable room, amazing Batur Lake and Mount Abang views, friendly staff, fine food, and most importantly, hot spring pools that you can use every time as you please.

Lots of fruit flies in the warung because the place is near a vegetable garden. However, the staff will gladly help you to overcome this issue by giving you a fly trap or candle to expel them.

Beautiful view and hot springs

Great view over the lake and Mount Agung - to be enjoyed within the hot spring pool at the center of the hotel! Very cool location and good food, also conveniently located at the start of a path to hike up Mount Batur.

Nothing to note about the hotel itself - only that the taxis offered are on the expensive side (450k for 1 hour 30 min to go to Sidemen), as the apps don’t seem to work in the area.

Good base camp for the hike!

Good location for the hike up mount Batur. The two hot water pools are amazing, especially at night. The food they cook is decent and the bed was comfortable.

The facilities are pretty basic. No locks on shower doors and see through bamboo cabins as toilets. No hooks or anything in the shower to hang your stuff. No power outlets in the dorm except for one in the corner.

Views are great and the hot pool is fantastic specially at night. For the price it has the place is good but some things could be improved. It is 10 minutes walk from the "center" on a dirty road hard to do with a motorbike.

When we arrived the cups in the room were used, when we asked them to changed them they just rinsed them with tap water in the garden and put them back in their place pretending they were clean just with that. No soap or anything. In general staff was not very talkative, and consequently not very useful. Communication wasn't the best. But for the price we paid the place is nice.

The hostel is amazing, super well located, clean, and a great breakfast. You can even try the Balinese awake shot. They view is incredible and the tour guide they arrange to climb the Mt Batur is the best!!! Ahhh, and the hot spring pool...great great great!!!

Stay here for climbing Mount Batur!

Perfect place to stay if you are climbing Mount Batur. The location is actually the start of the trek. There is a hot spring infinity pool and warm infinity pool you can enjoy after the hike. The views are amazing!! Friendly staff and fantastic food - the free breakfast was delicious and filling (I recommend the omelette and a fruit shake), and I enjoyed their vegetable soup. Comfy beds, clean and a very relaxing vibe. Highly recommend staying here!
