The accommodation is full of charm and ideally located, the roof terrace is magnificent, and everything can be visited on foot.
The accommodation is difficult to access with large suitcases.
The breakfast could be improved compared to the hotels of previous days.

Seicentotufi is located right in the heart of Sasso Barisano in Matera. It is on a main street, which is good because Matera is built on a hillside and many lodgings require a bit of an uphill climb on "streets" comprised of steps. The apartment was very spacious with a small balcony in front that overlooked the street and a separate rooftop terrace with expansive views of the beautiful buildings in the Sassi. The nighttime views were even more beautiful. The owner provided breakfasts for us each morning, consisting of focaccia, small sandwiches on croissants and cornetti. We couldn't see the ancient cave dwellings from the apartment, but it was not a long walk to reach the ravine. It was about a 20-minute walk to Matera Centrale, the train station in the modern town, and about 8 minutes further to the Freccialink bus stop.
There are not really two bedrooms. One private bedroom with bath is upstairs, but the other bed is at one end of the main living area and uses the bathroom down the hall. This is clearly shown in the photos; it was not a deal breaker for us as we were two single individuals traveling together. While being on a main street was convenient, it was a little noisy in the mornings, which of course, couldn't be helped.

Location was great, comfortable and clean
The cleaning ladies came to clean the place even though we were inside and didn't notice we were still at the property which was very awkward. There should have been a place that we could lock from the inside or at least say: do not disturb. Was really unacceptable.
