Ubud Rice Field House

I really loved this hostel. First, the most important thing for me: the rooms and bathrooms were really clean. The facilities are also well thought out, with big lockers and dedicated space for your suitcase or backpack. The swimming pool is great, and of course, the breakfast is delicious! A big thank you to the staff, who do an amazing job here.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! The location is perfect: close to everything, but away from the busy and chaotic areas. The property is beautiful, spacious and very well maintained, surrounded by greenery. There is also a large swimming pool and plenty of common areas where you can relax and spend time with other guests. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, with attention to every detail. Towels and slippers are provided, the lockers are large, and the beds are spacious and comfortable. Each bed also has multiple power outlets, a personal light, shelves and curtains, which provide plenty of privacy. The AC works perfectly, the Wi-Fi is great, and the bathrooms are spacious and very clean. The rooms are cleaned every day, and the beds are made and changed whenever necessary. There is also a great choice of breakfast options, all very tasty and made with good-quality ingredients. On top of that, there’s a lovely bar right above the hostel where you can order coffee and other drinks, and everything I tried was really good. The hostel also offers lots of activities, such as yoga, which was incredibly well organised, and traditional Indonesian dinners. These activities create a wonderful atmosphere and give you the chance to really immerse yourself in the local culture and the spirit of Ubud. But what really makes this place special is the staff. They are absolutely wonderful, always smiling, helpful and welcoming, and they create such a positive atmosphere and energy throughout the hostel. I absolutely loved my stay and I can’t wait to come back! ❤️

Ubud Rice Field House has a very different kind of charm — it feels less like simply booking a room and more like stepping into a small community of travellers and explorers. What I enjoyed most was the atmosphere. There was a genuine backpacker and traveller vibe, with people sharing stories, recommendations, travel experiences and ideas about where to go next. That kind of interaction adds so much to a trip, especially when you are exploring a place like Ubud. The reception team was excellent — welcoming, helpful and easy to approach. The tour desk was also a real highlight. They were very good at helping with local activities, transport and ideas for exploring the area, which makes a big difference when you want to experience more than just the usual tourist spots. It is the kind of place where you can arrive without knowing anyone and quite easily find yourself having conversations with travellers from completely different parts of the world.

Nothing major from my experience. Just keep in mind that this is a place with a social, traveller-oriented atmosphere, so it may suit backpackers and explorers more than someone looking for a very private luxury-hotel experience.

Gorgeous hostel with lovely workers there, decent breakfast and right in the heart of Ubud at a good price.
