If you love comfort – this hotel is not for you

The location is great, very centered. The stuff was friendly and allowed me to check in at 7am which was great and very helpful

I chose this hotel because I saw a lot of positive feedback. However, I didn’t like the facilities at all 😟 The hotel is extremely old. My room had only one socket, and all the furniture was old and not very usable. The sink was completely broken, and when you tried to use it, the water just went onto the floor from the other side. So if you don’t care about comfort, it is great since it is extremely cheap and perfectly located. The staff were also friendly, but they are completely unresponsive on Booking. If you have any specific requests, don’t even bother writing 🤷🏼‍♀️ P.S. I saw that they have a newer building with better rooms, but I was unlucky because they were all occupied. If you choose this hotel, ask for a room in the new building.

Friendly staff, great location

Very friendly staff, great location and amenities. Nice pool and I enjoyed being able to interact with other guests. I have made some great friends there. Location is nice and quiet.

I stayed in the deluxe room - 1B. The internet was quite slow in that area, couldn't have proper video calls. Also, I have gotten some permanent stains on my clothes after the laundry.

Very disappointing, poor management and still no refund

Upon arrival our room had dirty beds, hairs, and small bugs. The staff quickly moved us to another room, but the second room had the same issue with more bugs, stains and dirt. We were extremely uncomfortable and left late at night to find alternative accommodation. As such, we requested a refund the next day given we had not stayed at the property and had paid for 4 nights accommodation. The property accused us of bringing the bugs ourselves and claimed we arrived at midnight, and so they would charge us for one nights accommodation which we were happy to pay. However, they then offered to refund less than half of what we paid, which was insulting. Despite Booking.com repeatedly contacting the property, we still have not received any refund. Overall, the rooms we had were unclean, the property was poorly managed, and completely unprofessional in handling our complaint . I cannot recommend staying here.

Reception rarely attended, staff hard to find, so often could not asl for room to be made up, fortunately they left plenty of toilet rolls in common kitchen for when we ran out after a few days of no room make up. Obviously not obtaining room cleaning is common.

Perfect position and excellent value for money. I would definitely stay again.

My room was a bungalow in a garden setting with its own verandah. The location is in the centre of Ubud close to the main markets. The staff were extremely helpful. The room and bathroom were large and airy. Be aware that the entry to Swan Inn is down a narrow gang ( alley ) not suitable for cars.

It rained heavily while I was there and the gang ( alley ) to Swan Inn was covered with puddles.

Lovely gardens and pool

Staff were very nice. The gardens are very well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are budget rooms, but they put a lot of effort into the gardens and ambience.

Close to major facilities. Laundry lady was lovely. Other guests were nice.

You have to get your own luggage up the long tiny lane & it was always wet. In 7 days my garbage bin was never emptied, my room never cleaned. The pool bottom was covered in slippery mold, therefore dangerous & unhealthy to swim in. No bottled water ever given, whereas every other accommodation supplied water even though they were cheaper than Swan Inn. Open kitchen never felt clean & bins were overflowing. Staff have no presence with guests whatsoever. I’ve been to Bali numerous times & always found every host/owner & staff to be warm, joyous, interested & talkative with guests. Obviously I would not return to this location.

Hidden little gem

Staff was extremely friendly and available, great location close to a main road but still private and quiet for guests with restaurants, bars, stores and markets nearby. The wifi didn't work great in the room but it was much better outside or by the pool, that was by the way kept very clean. Great value for money. Thank you for hosting us!

at 6:30 some older guy cleaned to garden when ALL guests were sleeping. it’s Balinese tradition but when you have so many rooms - have to respect sleep of the guests! otherwise all good, once I asked more silent - the guy disappeared:) I just think this morning gymnastics as cleaning the garden can be done at 9 as well.

Central location with friendly staff

Great location, it’s a little further down the path than what maps show but the path was super pretty so I think it is actually a better location. The staff were super friendly and helpful! Room was comfortable (deluxe king) bathroom was big and clean with great water pressure and hot shower. You can do laundry on-site and it’s cheap and clean. The hotel itself is in really pretty gardens!

There was no kettle/coffee, I probably could have got one if I asked but I thought it would be in there. The pool was a bit green and so I didn’t want to go in. The bed was super comfortable but a bit smelly, maybe pillows need washing or mattresses protector installed?

A green oasis in Ubud

Swan Inn was like a green oasis in the centre of Ubud. A great place to escape when the town got too busy.. amazingly calm with birds singing in the morning.

traditional buildings, basic but good if you’re on a budget and do not mind walking with your luggage from the main

it is quite basic, behind one of the busiest main roads in Ubud so getting there will usually mean getting stuck in the crazy traffic, also once the taxi gets there it is difficult to stop on the main road and they cannot drive to the hotel as it is down a few lanes behind the main st.

Superb

Lovely place. Off the main road near to Ubud Palace. An absolute bargain I thought for cost, room size, gardens (well cared for, as I sat chilling in my room I watched caretakers looking after). Budget but as a solo traveler not wanting tourist resorts I loved the atmosphere here. I arrived very early, the owner welcomed me a directed me to the small but pleasant pool, while they prepared my room). Thanks to all for your warm welcome and very comfortable bed.

Don’t Do It

nothing after checking in I immediately started looking for another place to stay. By day two, I was able to find another hotel to stay.

restroom not clean , toilet looked like it had mold in seat. Ants in room. One bed you can tell was not comfortable because it was lumpy. The second bed when you sat in it it caved in the middle. I paid for another room and stayed somewhere else., I was able to find another hotel two days after being there. Also, for ladies, there is this long walkway that you have to walk down - it is dark with no lights, it is not the best feeling when walking alone at night.
