The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful- and this location is perfect for those wanting all the convenience of Ubud without being in the hustle and bustle. The neighborhood is beautiful and it is right next to the monkey forest! The facilities have a lot of potential but unfortunately we’re simply not clean or well kept. The curtains, bedding, sofas and shower curtains are all very stained and had holes- and the room was not clean at all. I think an investment in new soft goods would go a long way. If location is a priority- you really can not beat this area.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews and price. Keeping the price in mind my expectations were realistic. It should be clean regardless. The front desk staff were extremely nice. After that it went down We got to the room. It smelled. Not tropical mustiness. Just plain mildew. The bathroom was dirty and smelled like the airport urinal. It wafted out of the shower as I took a much needed rinse from an 18 hour flight. Maybe use a trap to keep the methane out. The windows had tape over the cracks. Why.. To keep the mosquitos out. Didn't work. Their nets need to be replaced. Next we got woke up at 8am by hammering and a circular saw cutting. I thought oops we are next to a construction site. Nope it was the hotel. Obviously The hotel has to perform maintenance. It should be between 10 and 5. Period. Hotels are meant for one reason. To rest. Starting on a project at 8am is wrong unless it’s an emergency. Pounding nails and using a circular saw at 8am is wrong. I asked after being rudely awakened by both if they were going to be going for a while. They said yes. They looked at me with a shrug. I shrugged back. Really. The hotel management needs to change. No bad hotels…just bad management. Next….The motorcycles sound as if they’re in your room. The road outside the hotel is busy. Always. Never saw that in a review. Next we were told to be quiet if we used the pool as we checked in. Then listened to a family yack away in the pool till 9pm. We left. Don' book

The location and staff along with a comfy bed and room made staying near the monkey forest a very good choice in Ubud. The Bali Bohemia restaurant was also excellent food and other food options on the street made for a convenient stay. The monkeys were the only thing that made it interesting trying to steal our shoes and harassing us. But you are staying in the monkey forest if you choose Bali Bohemia

Absolutely loved this hotel, it’s a tranquil oasis! The garden/pool area is beautiful and the room was great. It’s in a quieter part of town which we saw as a bonus, at the end of a street with plenty of options for bar/restaurant. The staff were very warm and friendly, would recommend 👍

I loved this stay overall! The only thing was that the sheets seemed dirty with a few hairs and a stain when I arrived and also note that there isn’t a TV, but didn’t bother me that much! I was basically only there to sleep and out exploring each day so it worked for me.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful small hotel. The Pictures of Hotel are how it’s in reality. Plus To be able to see wild nature literally outside your front door is truly an unforgettable experience! The hotel is very charming a bit of a need of certain reparations but nevertheless is Asia standard so is up to own personal standards. Downside is the employees are a bit layback, do not clean the rooms very well, they just make your bed & do not refill unless you ask them even when you leave them a small tip. However, they are very nice and try their best.

The villas were really funky, very interesting. Staff were also very pleasant, unfortunately open mic night on Thursday is not a good night if you want to go to bed before 1130. Very loud, with what seems to be a disregard for other patrons. If its raining watch your step, lobby has a very slippery floor, which caught me and the walking path to town is an adventure in its self. Wifi is almost non existent.

A fabulous place to hang out in Ubud for 3 nights. Your next door neighbor is the Monkey Forest so there are regular visits on the hotel roofs and on the wall by the restaurant. Lots of fun. Nice pool, lovely setting and garden, very friendly and helpful reception staff. Can see lots of monkeys by walking along the lane by the hotel. Only small criticism, when staying in the downstairs room there can be noise from the people upstairs if they have hard shoes. Overall very relaxing and quiet to sleep away from the hustle and bustle of town.

Bali Bohemia was just beautiful! A stunning, thoughtfully designed oasis! The room was gorgeous, with lovely linen, a very comfy bed and great air con. We stayed in one of the mezzanine rooms and loved having the little sitting area downstairs and the balcony. The pool was very clean and refreshing, and the staff were so lovely and spoke excellent English. Only tiny little things we didn't love: - to get into the main part of Ubud, you have to walk along a very narrow path that goes alongside the monkey forest. We met some very aggressive monkeys each time and it wasn't a very nice experience. Add to that the scooters that are whizzing down the path (which is less than 2m wide) all day and all night, and it isn't terribly safe to walk. So it's a bit of pain to walk into the main part of Ubud during the day and is very very dark at night. Lots of lovely cafes around Bali Bohemia and it's very easy to get a grab, so it's not a big deal, but it was a bummer. - The noise. We totally understand that to stay somewhere beautiful with nice facilities, that those facilities have to be built and maintained. The staff were so apologetic and we do understand that construction noise is sometimes inescapable in tourist destinations, but the reality was that we couldn't relax around the pool at all in the afternoons without having to listen to a bloke with an angle grinder/tile saw going at it 10m away. It wouldn't stop us staying here again, but we didnt love it.

Funky little hotel right next door to the monkey forest and the Blend Cafe (famous for its beautifully decorated smoothie bowls). Enjoyed watching the monkeys frolic at the restaurant. Also enjoyed the Thursday night open mic night. Felt like old school Bali.

We chose this property because its so unique, colorful and full of character. The design and layout of each villa is fun, beautiful, hippy bohemia style. However, some of the drawbacks is that theres lots of mosquitoes, bugs, spiders, geckos, frogs and monkeys in the building or around the area. So if you dont like having visitors daily then maybe its not for you. We enjoyed it and didnt mind the visitors, in fact, they made our stay more memorable. If youre staying at a 2 level villa like at the lotus, be prepared for the noise = you can hear whomever is walking upstairs very loudly due to the wooden floorboards. The air con works but is noisy. We were happy to stay here but wouldnt stay again as we would like to try a different hotel the next time we visit Ubud. This hotel is right next to monkey forest which is a must visit and about 10min walk to the street that leads you to Ubud Art Market & Palace.
